Player Discussion Brady Tkachuk (LW) - Part XI

sure he scores all the clutch goals, sure he leads the team emotionally, sure he might hit 45g and 90pts, and of course he leads the league in hits - but FFS remember that time where I couldn’t see him back checking as hard as I wanted him to just outside of the camera shot on my TV….

Hope we can somehow overcome him single handedly dragging the team down!

Don't forget that goal total is only possible because he is in a position to take so many (too many!) shots!

No kidding. The angle that he takes too many shots is insane to me. His numbers come from being tight in on the goalie and hammering away at rebounds. He's literally creating the shots that wouldn't otherwise exist.

This isn't basketball, he's not some ridiculous black hole taking away from the rest of the team.

Brady is great, but it's kinda funny how he sometimes has those "Brady is drunk" games. I don't remember another player like that.

Although we generally accept that mental fatigue can affect performance, there is little research, an incomplete understanding and very few practical recommendations to prevent detrimental effects on performance. Some research suggests that mental fatigue has the potential to negatively affect performance through not only a reduction physical performance, but also as a result of change in technique, decision-making and tactical and skill execution. However, the exact mechanisms responsible for mental fatigue are yet to be confirmed with creatine, glucose, and various other neurotransmitters, also likely to play a role.

maybe

Buffalo and Detroit both have former players who are now GMs who have been with their organizations for 4+ years. They are 1. and 2. in active playoff droughts.

I wonder if Detroit fans say similar things about Larkin and Raymond that some of you say about Tkachuk.

The team wins a game that Brady Tkachuk is essentially a passenger in and people rant and rave like we've clinched a playoff spot all thanks to him.
He just won the last game in OV. Enough said.

I thought Brady was a bit lackadaisical in his own zone. He seems to float, wander about and is not active quick enough when defending without the puck. He does other things though that sometimes make up for that.

Brady is not a figure skater so when he isn't working hard and on his game it is noticeable. Other more skilled guys can take the night off zipping around the ice but accomplishing nothing.

cmon lets not pretend brady not playing defense is some isolated incident.

with that said he is playing defense much harder now and no one is "hating".

i don't understand some of you though, its like you guys want brady to score more than you want the senators to win.

He's blocking shots, too, and staying out of the penalty box. He is perfectly capable of playing well in our zone and staying disciplined. If he keeps doing that, he'll actually be the leader the team needs for sustained success

It's good to know we have a player that we know will most likely pull through in overtime with a goal! This guy has done it time in and again!

Well that's better than some of you wanting the Senators to lose so you can blame him.
