Bradley Nadeau Signed

With Rimouski holding his rights in the Q and them hosting the memorial cup next year I wonder if he gets sent there maybe after the world juniors?
if he went to the Q next year, doesn't that mean he could only be in the Q unless he makes the canes?

either way, i'm thinking it's a hard no - playing in juniors would do nothing for him, and maybe even have him regress some due to level of competition. he needs to be adding mass and getting used to playing against men. he needs to be in the ahl, or even loaned to an shl (or similar level) team, not dominating kids.

Agreed. I'd rather have Nadeau back at Maine than going to the Q.

He'll be in the AHL next year barring a shocking revelation at camp.

I honestly didn't expect us to sign Nads for at least another year given we tend to let them marinate a few extra years. Maybe with Koivunen gone we get another closer-to-potentially-ready guy for the hopeful AHL team next season

If any kid is going to make the team, I would bet on FUS since he was close last year.

Would be nice for us to hear where they are playing. I’m guessing the kids have been given that info if so many are signing.
On the first part, I'm still thinking FUS is more likely in 25-26. He doesn't turn 19 until September and he's pretty slight. Unless he blows the doors off of camp, I think he's going back to the SHL. I could see him getting a few games, though.

On the second part, I totally agree. I wish they'd make an announcement soon.

Be not confused of the salaries with these recent signees. The MOTU to extend the CBA until 2026 has a peculiar rule that the max allowed ELC total salary depends on the draft year of the player. Nadeau got a max salary ELC, which for a 2023 draftee means $950k, or $855k as the base salary after you subtract the allowed max (10 %) signing bonus of $95k which counts against the total salary max.
