It is rigged
No it isn't, if it is explain how the Rangers have ONE championship in 85 years.
If it were rigged the Rangers would be winning a lot.
It is rigged
I know we wouldn’t be……..I doubt we would be much worse then Dubas and Shanny
Clearly you are obtuse . They accepted the penalty to Gilmour for bleeding on the ice when Gretzky carved his face open. What happens to Kadri or Bunting if they elbow Bobrovsky in the head taking him out of the series? Toronto did nothing. Leafs are 0 and 13:under McCauley. That is mathematically impossible. Yes the Leafs accept it. Are you blind?Yeah that's right, it is rigged.
Are you really so obtuse as to believe that the league's richest team with the biggest fanbase would actually accept that?
What about all the other years we lost to a cup contender in 7 games?Man, watching Florida DOMINATE Carolina tells me how close we really are.
They had Florida on the ropes, they kicked Florida up and down the ice until half way through game 3 when Woll single handily blew it and look what they are doing to Carolina.
I'm not saying sign Marner and run it back.
I am saying with the right moves, if they can get a couple top 6 forwards they aren't far off
When you have no prospects and no first rounders for 3 years there is no room for improvement as Marner walks for free. Also Ottawa and Montreal have built properly and will now overtake them. The Leafs have painted themselves into a bad corner unless they make some very good free agent signings. Even that won't matter if they don't address the reffing. Tre inherited a mess but he hasn't made it any better. That Laughton trade will turn into one horrible trade. I still don't see the direction and think Tre is firing shots into the dark, praying. He recently traded a 1st and prospects for a 3rd line centre that isn’t any better than what we already have. He also offered Marner another ridiculous contract this season that he thankfully declined. I think he was doing decent before any of this. I’d say he’s not doing terrible so far. But definitely room for improvement.

They got blown the f*** out 6-1 in games 5 and 7. Games were nowhere near closeyou mezn all the other teams coached by cowardly Keefe?
there is a reason I said they werw close and it's got a lot to do with the style Berube has them playing.

Ottawa should pass them this year.Montreal and Ottawa are not passing them unless you think everybody is going to suffer a season or career ending injury

We scored 4 goals in last 4 games with the offense dying under berube just as it did with Keefe.
The team wasn't close to beating FLO. They choked game 3 and then just gave up and got manhandled the rest of the series.
CAR can suck but we blew it bad and got blown out of the playoffs.
Next year who knows how the rest of the EC improves. We wont be the clear cut 2nd best team in the east next year.
Healthy Devils team with possibly Quinn Hughes added. , Rangers looking to bounce back to contenders and being aggresive in the summer, as lower playoff teams looking to take steps (MTL, OTT + the fringe playoff teams in CBJ, DET, BUF)
This core/team had their best chance at winning a cup this year. The blew it and got embarrassed out of the playoffs.
The Panthers team is looking to be a dynasty. They will contend for another 3-5 years
Ottawa should pass them this year.
Going to the 2nd round and losing badly doesn't prove you right.I am legitimately not sure why you even mentioned Columbus, Detroit or Buffalo, they aren't a threat until they prove otherwise, they exist and that's about it, especially in the case of Detroit and Buffalo.
Changes need to be made, no question about it.
But up to this point I've been proven right about Treliving and Berube and I see no reason to believe that won't continue baring season and/or career ending injury to basically the entire team.
Unless the Leafs make significant changes I don’t see them exceeding their normal 100-105 point total and it’s likely they take a step back. Ottawa should be pushing 100 points this season and have a better playoff showing if they can get another easy round 1 matchup.Again unless the entire team is gutted by injury I doubt it VERY much.

We went to the 2nd round with Dubas in 2023 and lost in 5. Played 2 more games this year.
Berube had no counters to the top line being shut down and didnt break his strategy when we were getting smacked around.
The leafs achieved the most they could with this core and team. The Panthers are too complete of a team and too dominant.
Leafs core without marner needs 2-3 Lundell/Bennett/Verhaghe type players who elevate their games big time come playoffs.
Our Core guys see large falloffs in play and production which continued for 34, 91 and 16 this year.
Until we fix the issues with offense our team can't beat the elite playoff teams in the league.

With no assets to trade and not much in FA how do they make significant changes?I think we all expect significant changes.
At least I do.
I think the vast majority of the changes come at forward, although I could MAYBE see Rielly being moved.
But I think the vast majority of the changes come at forward and I think unless your name is Matthews, Nylander or Knies you are available.
I don't think Domi or Laughton are going anywhere but I'm not ruling it out.
If your goal was winning 7 playoff games then set a higher goal.Taking a victory lap after that is stupid.Look you don't have to like it, hell I don't f***ing like it.
But the fact remains, the SECOND they won that 6th game I was proven right, at least for this year.
It's a low bar but It's the one we have to work with because It's all Dubas and Cowardly Keefe could achieve.
Ask me a year from now I might feel different.
But as og May 25th 2025 I'm right it's that simple.
I could live with a re-tool year. Wait until next FA and see if you can’t restock the cupboards at least by a little bit. With no assets to trade and not much in FA how do they make significant changes?
It’ll take years, which is why Matthews should be available, imo.I could live with a re-tool year. Wait until next FA and see if you can’t restock the cupboards at least by a little bit.
*obviously you can’t undo years of going all-in in a single year.
Would you want active rosters pieces coming back? Or a full rebuild? It’ll take years, which is why Matthews should be available, imo.
I’d want active players, prospects and even picks.Would you want active rosters pieces coming back? Or a full rebuild?

You didn't even need this team to be a ECF team to declare Berube + Treliving as building a great team.
If you are setting your targets against the failed era of Dubas & Lou then the treliving era has passed that sure with 1 division title + 1 ECSF game 7 appearance in 2 years
If you are setting your targets against any other legitimate organization the two years have been subpar at best.
Avs last 3 years have lost R1, R2, R1 and they are viewed as heavy chokers and failures these 3 years.
We need to compete and compare against the elite teams of the NHL, not being marginally better than the failure of Lou + Dubas era.
The minimum we need for next year is a ECF appearance. R1 or R2 loss would be another failure
