Brad Treliving is doing a great job.

Now that the Shanahan shackles are off, Treliving will have more freedom to build his team.

I was thinking to myself that if you ever needed a hockey lifer to come in to be president and support the GM, 2025 would be a good time to bring in a Brendan Shanahan for guidance and culture overhaul and maybe to clean house.

Will be interesting to see Rogers reduce the size of the front office. They’re cheapskates and I’m not necessarily an austerity guy philosophically. But that new age Dubas front office probably could be made to be a leaner more functional outfit.

Leafs should post polls here before making decisions.

And then use the results to do the opposite.

That's funny you should say that because I use to say often that doing the exact opposite of what Dubas was going being it signings, amounts, orders, trades, drafting etc etc. would be the better option, :wg:

With Treliving I have found the opposite to be true in that many of his moves and decisions to be ones that aligned with my beliefs better.. Building from the goalie out,, adding big physical playoff style players. Getting out from 4 overpaid Core players eating up 1/2 your cap, draft bigger stronger players and stay away from all those smurfs that have little hope, etc Fire Keefe, bring in a real proven coach that change the system to better playoff style hockey.

Jones with retention for however many years cost about the same as what Tre paid for Carlo
Jones was someone I've wanted the Leafs to pursue since his Columbus days.

Fancy stats crowd said he was shit, but I thought he could still play if given the right situation. Not sure our situation would've benefited him, but personally I think it would have.

I can appreciate that he battled hard in the playoffs and tried making things happen but at the end of the day he was about a standard 4th liner.

Massive failure of a trade.

I defended the trade at the time. I think there was a logic to it. But was proven wrong.

But a tdl acquisition is ultimately determined by results. He's going to really make an impact like a borderline top six forward next season, or give the team a favorable extension deal to make it worth it. It also didn't help that better players were traded for less.

The Carlo deal was more favorable to the team at least credit where it's due I suppose

He recently traded a 1st and prospects for a 3rd line centre that isn’t any better than what we already have. He also offered Marner another ridiculous contract this season that he thankfully declined. I think he was doing decent before any of this. I’d say he’s not doing terrible so far. But definitely room for improvement.

Rogers sure has a way of tuning out the audience. I can’t even watch the Jays anymore.
That worries me about Rogers. They are sitting on their hands when it comes to the Jays management team that has been there for a decade and done nothing. I think we are going back to the days of just trying to get into the playoffs for some extra gate revenue and pretending we want to win it all. Rogers didn't want to do the rebuild in 2014 because they had just signed that 12yr deal with the NHL...guess what they just did a few months ago...again.

Man, watching Florida DOMINATE Carolina tells me how close we really are.

They had Florida on the ropes, they kicked Florida up and down the ice until half way through game 3 when Woll single handily blew it and look what they are doing to Carolina.

I'm not saying sign Marner and run it back.

I am saying with the right moves, if they can get a couple top 6 forwards they aren't far off

Brother I'll never stop. I'm potentially mad at Lou for giving away Carter Verhague to the islanders who gave him to Tampa who gave him to Florida. Or what about Dakota Joshua or what about Marchment or Connor Brown or Trevor Moore or Hyman or Kadri or....Bunting? Imagine how good of a 3rd line we'd have if we didn't overpay 4 guys and rielly.

I'm being silly but also...

Verhaghe doesn't bother me, It's hard for me to get upset when he doesn't breakout until his 4th team.

I'm not taking that job. Intentionally destroying the team and betraying Leafs fans while staying quiet as the NHL rigs it through the refs. Puke.

Yeah that's right, it is rigged.

Are you really so obtuse as to believe that the league's richest team with the biggest fanbase would actually accept that?

Do you not understand that they make more money if the team wins?
