I sure hope not, but it's not impossible. When you win a championship, you tend to be in demand. He's gotta be gone, wouldn't you think?
Yeah, we weren't going to be able to keep Bednar in the minors forever. He had a shot at getting the position with the Blue Jackets, but there happened to be someone available with a good deal of NHL experience and a good track record, so...I sure hope not, but it's not impossible. When you win a championship, you tend to be in demand.
Heck, even if he leaves, maybe we can bring him back in another capacity further down the road.
One thing to remember, Bednar is a head coach, while Shaw is considered a defensive specialist, which is what the CBJ want. They might be looking to groom Bednar for a different position.
Well they also listed Hitchcock when (I'm pretty sure?) he's already announced his retirement after this season's end.https://twitter.com/myregularface/status/811752594037161984
Found this interesting. The NBC Sports analysts have Shawsy as a possible candidate for Vegas.

Blues definitely miss Shaw. Glad to see he's doing well with you guys!
Meanwhile the Blues' defense, which is the same group as last year, doesn't look nearly as good (outside of Pietrangelo and Parayko). You'd be hard pressed to find a Blues fan that doesn't miss him.Yes. The Blues loss was definitely the CBJs gain. The defense is so much better and it's not only the infusion of a couple young players. The defensive structure and puck movement out of the zone is light years ahead of last season.
Your loss our gain, Thank You. We are much improved with Shaw and he should get all the credit for the play of the D this year, it's not the 2 new kids responsible for all of this teams defensive growth.
