hes making way to many soft plays. half the times the puck flutters off his stick when passing shooting or clearing the zone.
 
Was a PP specialist and isn't good on the PP anymore.

Tough luck.

Get rid of him as soon as this season ends.

bull****..gaborik 2 40 goal seasons and 7 goals thru 13 games which is a 44 goal pace under that same garbage system. richards just blows right now, there is nothing to blame but his own laziness and lack of intensity

It looks like he didn't practice skating or hit the weight room at all during the lockout. He's sluggish and barely hustles.

I've always been a Richards fan and I was a huge proponent of signing him. I really thought he was going to have a big season this year and I'm disappointed in what I've seen so far. Hopefully he starts picking up his play like he did towards the end of last season.
 
His contract expires in 2020, when he'll be 39. He plays like he's 39 already. His cap hit simply cannot be kept on our books beyond this year. Even if he is not already holding us back he is an absolute nightmare waiting to happen over the remainder of the contract.

Even if he picks up the pace and ends up with a decent season by end of it, he needs to go for the long-term health of this team.
 
He was just as bad for nearly the entire regular season last year as well, aside from a few small hot streaks and the playoffs.

His play has also been significantly worse then both Gomez and Drury. No doubt in my mind he will get bought out when the time comes.

Sather got McDonagh for Gomez. i wonder what he can get for Richards, maybe Seth Jones :sarcasm: but i hope he is dealt at the 2013 or 2014 draft... Sather should be taking calls for him..

Buyout is the most realistic prospect I think but if some idiot GM wants to acquire him for peanuts with potential that would be fine by me.

Fair play to Brad Richards he has made a fantastic career out of being a good team player, a good assist man and a power play specialist but he's on the wane. No room for sentimentality.
 
He's gotta be injured or something. Like I said in the gdt his points don't really reflect how horrible he's been. I dunno.

I hate how he's been too, but maybe you blacked out just how bad Gomez & Drury were towards the end of their stints here.

yea i understand that... maybe one day he will say F This, i wanna play where it is warm. maybe as he gets older, he will want to play in a place that has warm weather all year round.
 
I'd trade Richards to the Coyotes. He could give the Hoover Dam a rest on his off days. Get his conditioning back up.
