The guy tied his second best career goal total and was a point per game player last year, as well as two years ago, and you think he's cooked?
That's one way to look at it, another is 2 goals and 1 assist in his last 12 games vs the Panthers.

He's a 2/3C at this point, when he's not being spoonfed PP time and stapled to Nylander's hip, what's his actual production rate? Probably very similar to Stamkos from 40/40 to 30/20 in one year.

He already hosed the Leafs and put up some horrendous numbers in the playoffs where he was 50th in gpg/96th in ppg during his Leafs playoff tenure. Time for him to take a haircut.

The Leafs window already looks like this:

Maybe, but what can you do with the NTC/NMC. Nothing, you just have to keep trying right now and hope the team that took the cup champs to 7 figures it out.

Yeah the playoff performance hasn't been great but do you say Matthews and Marner are 'cooked' because of their lack of playoff production?

You could say the same about damned near any player so you aren't making the point you think you're making. What is Matthew's production rate when he isn't stapled to Marner's hip? We could play that game all day.

Tavares has always been terrible for the Leafs and he's 35, anyways we can't move off of any of the core guys, they are irrelevant.

You can't because they're not 35 and have sucked for 7 years in the playoffs. Tavares is Stamkos 2.0.

I'm sure its nothing, but its certainly interesting that the Bruins unveiled new jerseys with only 2 alternate captains and dont have one of them promoted to C yet

Came to say this exact thing

Florida will have info on a chart showing why 6.5 is the same amount of take home pay as 8ish in many many cities

He was born to be a Bruin but destined to finish his career on this Panthers team

not sure if this has been said but how crazy is it to consider that he may be remembered more as a panther than as a bruin??

Bs fans may never fully flip but if he stays and wins another cup or two, most people probably will think of him after retirement as a panther. who would have ever thought this could be possible in february?

If he stays in Florida it wouldnt be all that surprising. For one theres the recency bias. But also most of his iconic shitbag moments came earlier in his career with the Bruins. He hasn't really been all that relevant these last few years beyond being a good player. But this run he's been on with Florida and the social media stuff now is certainly iconic and memorable

The Panthers are the Borg. If Marchand, Bennett and Ekblad sign for any other teams for big $$$, they will be disastrous contracts. But if they sign in Florida for less, they will all contribute to success for years. That's what a great team is, more than the sum of its parts.

I get a Borg feeling from Dallas and Carolina too. Doesn't seem to matter how players do elsewhere.
