Take it for what it's worth because it's Kyper and he's certainly not consistent.

But there are 2 things he seems relatively confident in.

One is Boesser to Minnesota.

The other is Marchand to Toronto.

We shall see.

If it's 4 years for Brad, Zito can do something like 5M, with bonuses that would have overages carry into the following years, as next year and afterwards isn't a problem for Florida. Trade ERod with a pick for no salary back. Then sign Ekblad at 6.5, Samoskevich at around 1.5, Nosek at 800k, Megna at 800k, and Vanecek at 1M.

I think he will leverage these offers to stay in Florida. If Ekblad is leaving, it looks like they could do both Bennett and Marchand at 16M and have room to pay a few depth players to fill out the roster.

They could possibly do something creative like a 1 year deal where part of his salary is in performance bonuses at really ways to hit rates like 5GP, 10GP, that would allow them to push some of his salary to next year. If he wants term, they could agree ahead of time to a handshake extension for January.

Marchand has been underpaid his entire career and just won his 2nd Cup, I think he’s ready to cash in. Maybe his time in Florida changed his feelings, but I can’t see him leaving a bunch of money on the table to stay in with the Panthers at this point in his career.

If he wants money then Toronto is the place
