Player Discussion Brad Marchand XI - Marching forward we go

Again.... I think if Marchand actually wants to be here to end his career, he needs to sign that contract. There has to be a mutual agreement on an extension. If not, you need to sell to the highest bidder IMO.... even if you're in the playoff picture at the time. I would think he holds significant value given his playoff pedigree.

Devils would pay for Marchand if you're interested!

For what, my fine fellow?

What would you sign him for?

(I have no problem extending him, but it shouldn't be north of $6M)

Maybe 6 X 2/3.

Reading his comments, and from what I gather elsewhere, my sense is that they will resign him.

Of course, I would like to see Brad finish his career where he belongs.

Nonetheless he would fetch an excellent return.

20 goals so far and he can easily match or exceed the 29 he scored last season. He’s right where he’s been consistently for the last 5 years. Is he slower, yes but other than that, his game hasn’t fallen off like some posters keep trying to push.

2 year extension and he retires a Bruin.

we don't know what management thinks, but...

, Brad Marchand shared his thoughts on the trade rumors surrounding him ahead of the March 7 deadline.
That does not help Boston fix things any quicker but he is a Bruins legend so be it

I always go back to Patrick Marleau, 20 years in San Jose, he never thought he'd leave, then he gets to July 1st without an extension, multiple teams come calling offering multi-year deals, and the rest is history.

Not many agree but the Bruins need to A) Swallow their pride and admit this season is a lost cause.

Then pick B or C.

B is extending Marchand before the deadline passes.

C is trading him before the deadline passes.

I'm good with either decision. It's indecision that would be a mistake. Management need to man-up and be decisive here, one way or the other.
Bruins GM will take Brad at his word though ,u know it & I know it.

I’m GM he’s playing for Boston next season

All of a sudden I’m reading he’s not good, he’s selfish lol

He and his wife are living here and his kids are it sounds like growing up here so I’d put it at other than an unlikely March - June: play-cation; he will be back on an extension

He has always been pretty streaky - emotionally driven

Legit top 6 F

His demise here is another fun read

Hey, I would like Brad to finish where he started, with us, here in Boston.

That will likely be the case.

I'm fine with that.

He would fetch a pretty penny.

I know who I would really like to move...

There are two of them.

Well past their expiration date.

They will likely be here through the summer. There are variables.

To paraphrase Mr. Mike from Everett, given the opportunity, I would eject both forcibly into the sun, never to be seen on Causeway Street, or in recurring nightmares, again.

Tis a consummation devoutly to be wished, though unfulfilled.

For now, anyway.

Query:

Do you think Don Sweeney or Cam Neely want Zdeno Chara anywhere near the executive suites of the Boston Bruins?

Someone, and I won't say who, made the mercurial offer.

Which, apparently, was accepted.

Why would that certain someone do this, as in love as he is with SweeNeely?

Curiouser & curiouser,

❓ 👀

63 looks fine to me. Sign him already!

I'm still torn on what they should do. It's very special to have a guy like him spend his entire career here. At the same time, the package we get for him could help this team re tool a lot quicker, whether that's getting draft picks and developing them or flipping them for more help up front.

Think the question we need to ask is will we contend for a cup again in his career.

I’m guessing they as in ownership want him part of organization

I asked someone about this who’s got pretty good knowledge on this and they said Z loves his life and knows a GM is 24:7 365 job (one of your players gets in serious trouble and you are on vacation in Australia in late July you gotta drop everything and come home)

They doubt he’s interested as GM

Being a consultant is the dream job for many as long as checks don’t bounce

So cool that he a scored!

Price of a brick is going up...

This is how Sweeney and Marchy impress me to the max

Step 1: deal him to a contender
Step 2: resign him to a 1 year 4M deal with bonuses
Step 3: DEAL HIM AGAIN at the following deadline (if we miss again)
Step 4: resign him one last time!
Step 5: retires Bruin, HHOF

He’s not back and they go with Providence guys I’m guessing the sell out streak is over

the Bruins healthy can win any game

They need a very modified retool

This bottom falling out is comical

Pretty unlikely but interesting
