I absolutely disagree with him being “one of the best players in the world” at this stage of his career.
Your opinion isn’t going to stop Marchand from trying to prove to everyone that he is. Which I think this tournament will motivate him playing best on best and elevate his game.

Sure, I don’t disagree with that.

I disagree with him being one of the best players in the world which you claimed he is.

No I never claimed that. I said hes going to want to prove he is.

“Marchy is going to want to prove to everyone even though he’s soon to be 37, he’s still one of the best players in the world.”

Marchand has a drive that is way greater than most, even other professional athletes and on a stage like this he’s going to want to prove he’s still near the top, it’s just the way he ticks.

Yeah, that's a great deal if you're Boston. I just don't see the player agreeing to that, especially with a club that's a bubble team, at best. He'll get better offers elsewhere.

This is his last contract and his Cup Window is very, very small. I get that he loves Boston, but that's only gonna carry you so far.....He's also earned the right to be a little bit selfish.
It will depend on a) his sense of belonging to the Bruins and b) whether he wishes to have spent and finished his career as a Bruins. At 37, rich as he is, family, kids, money might not be at the top of his value.

The underline: - to be sport pro, at some point you have been selfish, putting yourself first.

Hopefully guys like MacKinnon and McDavid try to recruit him for a cup run and Marchand brokers his way out so they can start the transition.

QBF wanted a full rebuild in summer of 22

They aren’t rebuilding

This is so freaking silly

Btw do you like Cheevers ? He lived a couple miles from my house in Danvers - my parents would drop my sister off to baby sit their kids and bring his wife Betty to the game. Gerry would either bring her home after or in the morning before school

Betty passed away a few years ago and was one of my mom’s best Friends. She was a beautiful on the outside as in. Gerry was awesome - funny as anyone. Would jump in our home made street hockey net (with chicken wire) and try and stop tennis balls from the kids

Great time to be alive and born into right family lol
Gerry Cheevers was my first favorite Bruin. I love Cheesie! I was even happy when the Bruins hired him as head coach. Great story. I really enjoyed it!

Why would the Oilers or the Avalanche need a player who takes dumb penalties all the time?

Why does that matter to Bruins fans? He still has to come back and play with Coyle and Lindholm
Not speaking for all Bruins fans, as I know some still want him as a Bruin, but for me, it does because it should help his value on the trade market and others Im sure would just like to see him excel regardless. Guess you can count me on the later two.

I love Marchand. One of Sweeney's best moves was dealing Lucic so he could sign Marchand long-term. Marchand has a lot of great qualities, but recently it has felt like he still needs that one guy in the room to reign him in every once in a while. That could explain why the Bruins hired Chara as a player and coach consultant, or the Bruins want to potentially maintain the culture that 2011 team built when they may eventually move Marchand in a trade.

Marchand • McDavid • Hyman line would be interesting in Edmonton.

Marchand • Bennett • M.Tkachuk
No to Florida, they haven't drafted in the first round in three years, so there's more than likely no near NHL ready prospects and this years Draft is very weak, not helping that team, for a return that'll more than likely results in zilch.

Sorry, I read that wrong. I thought there was a period there which would make that a claim, my bad.

I can see him being influence and tempt by McDavid and the Oilers...... . But if he is happy here, no money needed, does not care to join a contender..... it will be a Bruins call at the end of the day!!!

That would be something.. same division! Bruins fans could have a different eye/view on Marchand.

The Bruins should sign Marchand to a 3 year extension (3 x 6.3 M).

Or trade him to his childhood team, the Toronto Maple Leafs.

There are more Bruins fans than Leafs fans in Nova Scotia. Matter of fact TV38 was on the cable lineup in Nova Scotia back in the day and all 4 Boston teams have brought their championship trophies to Halifax, due to the number of fans there.
