I get it. Don’t care enough to root for the team. Glad he is healthy and hope he plays all 4 games of the first round loss :wally
Wouldn’t you want Florida to go deep as possible and then have them lose after they win 2 rounds, then?

That hurts them even more because that 2028 first rounder is going to be top 10 and it’s one less pick they would have to trade away at another deadline.

Tomorrow’s Globe:

Brad Marchand, when reminiscing this past week about his early days in Boston, credited his time spent with Mark Recchi as helping him to understand the dedication needed to have a long, successful NHL career. “He was 82 years old, doing wind sprints on the treadmill after the game,” said a smiling Marchand, “and I’m eating a slice of pizza. I’m like, ‘Wow, I might need to change a few things here.’ ”
🤣 I miss #63

I have a really hard time caring about a future draft pick who is probably 14 years old today.
It’ll be here before you know it and I’d rather look forward to that than worrying about the past that you can’t control.

It also is an asset that can be used in another move, something the Bruins have had very little of and a 1st holds a lot more value than a 2nd

I've seen a lot of back and forth on this situation, but I think there's a middle ground: Sweeney moving on from Marchand might ultimately be the right choice, but he also handled the negotiation before deadline very poorly.

Marchand's contract demands didn't appear out of nowhere. The Bruins being a non-contender this year didn't appear out of nowhere. They needed to read the room earlier -- I think it's clear they were holding onto playoff hopes far too late, and they needed Marchand to get there at all.

But here we are now, getting a better return for Trent Frederic's 15 points than we did for our team captain.

I don't want to hear the "forced trade to Florida" excuse -- Giroux did the same thing three years ago, and the price was still a 1st + Owen Tippett.

This was clearly a rushed decision, and they paid the price for it.

It's really hard to like the Panthers.

Utah guy just got his stick up and hit Mikkola on his shoulder and he immediately grabbed his throat.

And then the Florida colour guy comments how he just got hit under the chin.
That's how they play both tough guys and victims whatever suits their needs!
IMO I find that very trashy!
