Marchand hasn't played beyond the 2nd round since he was 31. I think its a coin flip
he will be effective if they go deep. I think its as likely as not Boston's offer is his best one.
I'll disagree there. He's had a lot of bad luck with injuries but when healthy he's still an effective player.
Since the '19 cup run, Marchand has 26 goals, 55 points in the playoffs vs Pasta's 22 goals, 44 points.

I wouldn’t rule it out, but I mean if he goes on a long playoff run with FL he’s going to be quite banged up. I know he wants to play until 40, but sometimes the body can’t do what the mind wants. I just don’t know if they have the cap to really take a gamble on him continuing to be a second liner and at his current salary. They are already saddled with Lindholm who isn’t producing. Milly while looks good his first game also comes with consistency concerns so that’s a risk. They have a million third/fourth liners already as well as some young guys that are projected as third/fourth liners.

So emotionally yeah I can see wanting him back. Just not sure it’s the best idea for the team’s future. Bandaid has been ripped might as well just deal with it now. But in the end I am fine with whatever they do. I can see the pros and cons of both so nothing will get me bent out of shape. Well should t say that depends on the con tract if they do sign him

I know it a 35+contract but Brad is in shape so yes I think it is a better move. It is certainly better than giving him away.
I love Marchy. Will miss him so much. His interview in FLA about the trade was classy and just excellent. God, I’ll miss him.

Still, my view is a 3 x $6 - $7M would turn out badly. A low low First (if he remotely healthy — the Marchy I know will not miss 50% of PO games) is not giving him away. And if the Brad Marchand I know is too hurt to play in the playoffs with a real chance to win another Cup??? Then he’s really hurt and FLA paid a second for a risk.
