And on top the other amazing achievements.

In the finals he has 4 goals ES, 1 PPG and 1 SHG. Absolutely insane performance by the Rat and what a genius move by Zito, he continues to f*** his trade partners including my team
Everyone knows Bettman is telling his trade partners to get mowed over by him or else face serious consequences as part of his evil plan to make Florida a hoxkey mecca.

Actually was conditional pick, the Panthers making the ECF made it a first round pick.
Still, whatta bargain!!

Well, I guess I should’ve read one more post before replying.... :dunno:

And if Marchand didn't recover and wasn't able to play cause he was injured at the time of the trade the 2nd would have looked like a steal, since Boston would have gotten a 2nd round pick for literally nothing. As much as I like Marchand a 37-year old pending UFA on the IR was never going to get top value, That he was able to choose which team he was traded to just made the situation worse for Boston.

But of course he did recover, so ho boy does it look like Florida made out on the trade (and then some).

Worse for Edmonton. Such a great pickup, almost unfair.

Boston went to Marchand and asked him where he would go, and he said Florida.

So... genius move by Marchand?
Brad is a very smart player and I wish him the best. He owes us Bruins fans nothing, gave it everything he had every time he was on the ice. I'm only sorry we could just get him the 1 Cup while he was here.

Brad was the making of Patrice. We all know the obvious talent that Bergeron was, but he wasn't getting the space he needed to really show it until Brad came along. Patrice was pathologically nice and he got a lot of attention from opposing rat types because of it.

Putting our King Rat on his line meant that the opposing rats couldn't focus down Bergeron and put some nasty on his line that was urgently needed to balance out Bergy's gentlemanly ways.

There was a reason those two were inseparable from Brad's rookie year until Bergeron retired. That partnership was one of the best decisions Pete Chiarelli and Claude Julien ever made. Their chemistry was unreal. They were like big and little brother on and off the ice for over a decade.

I hope 63 and 37 end up in the rafters in the Garden together. They've earned it.

Well sheeeesh....what was Edmonton thinking?
Max Jones, Walman and Trent Frederic???
That's what you saw that was available?

Jones has been a healthy scratch. Walmans getting burned constantly. Frederic is invisible and a goof, ECHL calibre

Meanwhile Florida picks up Marchand and Seth Jones.
Oy!

Or Patrick Kane of him? Bruins respected BMs wishes for his 16 years of service, which is a class act IMO. Don't see how this is a negative.
More a jab at LeBron James via irony. As you said, Marchand put his time in with Boston, they were retooling and have him a choice

Marchand is a guy you love to hate but he comes to play

LeBron James is just a douchebag

Shocking to me that in 100 years of the NHL that no player scored 5+ goals for different teams in the finals.
I don't know, I mean, there are a lot of players that have never been the finals at all, so less that have been there 2 times and then even less that have been there 2 times with more than one team.

I'm just amazed at how quick he has been on those breakaway goals.

If I was an outsider to the game, I would of though Marchand was a young up and coming superstar the way he "cheated" the draw but still not only dangled the defensemen but also the goalie at the same time. The game 2 OT winner was a great heads up play too.

And add in the times he's scored and the importance of some of the goals.
Just an insane performance from him, something I didn't expect to see.

It pains me to say it but he'd be my choice of Conn Smythe winner if Florida wins
