It wouldn't have mattered as much, if at all, had there not been the Alabama should have been a playoff team talk following the first round of the playoffs. Alabama should have been motivated to prove they deserved to be in the playoffs and entered the game with the mindset of winning 40-0. All they did was make the selection committee appear to be correct.
