This game basically said that Tampa has free reign to try and injure Leaf players and the league won't do anything about it.

I legitimately cannot see the Leafs winning anything in the playoffs with this crazy bias the officiating and league have against them.

I honestly think I'm going to be done watching this league for awhile after this year's playoffs.

When the Leafs lose to Tampa - I'm not even going to blame Dubas, Keefe, or any of the players. The bias the officiating and the DOPS has against the Leafs is going to make it completely impossible for them to win. There's going to be a bunch of idiots on here screaming about the Leafs being too soft when they lose, but they literally cannot respond to other teams being dirty because they're under a completely different set of rules compared to American teams.

It certainly doesn't give the appearance of competitive parity.

But no worries, we win no prizes for the demonstration of (supplemental) financial parity.

And that's why Toronto matters.

I think the Leafs management whether it be MLSE, Shannahan, Dubas needs to start calling the league out on this BS. Take the fine and let them have it.
I'm hoping a more popular social media personality discusses it instead, there's loads of clips you can take from every single game. Someone with a large following who can get the actual hockey world to see what our players have to deal with, with zero punishment for the opposing player.

Shannahan will never call out DOPS, because as soon as he does it's open season on all the shit he let go when he was the head of the DOPS. It's a shitty situation to be in, I actually thought Shannahan was pretty strict when he was the head of DOPS. But you know people will find the instances where he messed up

Someone who is neither associated with the Leafs or who a fan, just someone who notices & cares enough to have a problem with it.

They don't seem to be interested in calling anyone out. They've had ages and ample opportunity to do so, and haven't done it.

Weirdly, I don't think the NHL respects Dubas and takes it out on the team.

Da Jacobs power group of small market owners who elected Bettman as commish from NBA don't care about da big market teams so long as they keep funding da program .. only chance anything is gonna change is if Leafs, Habs, Rangers, Hawks and Golden Knights form a super league .. then they can pay best players MAX $$$ and Canadian market would be ok with it with some participation from Canucks and Flames likely .. Boston's Jacobs would then be changin his tune as he would be guy funding his gang which would be lucky to survive as a minor league for da super league .. Sportsnet and TSN cancel their NHL contracts and partner with super league .. espn would quickly kill its deal too .. it would have to be a painful death but folks Shanny knows it already .. he worked under Bettman and Jacobs for years and is all too familiar with program .. Bell and Rogers likely don't want to rock da boat

Need to start raising some rats on the Marlies. Come up to the NHL for a game or two each...play like rats....refuse to fight because that would reduce their ratting by 5 minutes...then go back to the Marlies. Rinse and repeat. Starts with Dubas though...he seems like a guy who would draft mice ahead of rats.

I'd say try to count the amount of times Tavares and Bunting got punched in the head during the game yesterday, but, it was too hard to count the head shots on a shift by shift basis. ...Bunting seems to be well hated league wide, but, why was Tavares under constant headshot attack.
a punch to the head (when not in a fight) should be a penalty/suspension depending on the severity. punches to the back of the head are illegal in pro fighting, but, seem to be okay every shift in the NHL
