I've kinda wondered about the price for Carlo, and if Detroit would go for it.
He'd nicely bridge the gap as we start to work ASP into the lineup. Would be a massive upgrade over Petry and Holl. AlJo plays the 2RD role well, but it's not his natural side.
You're not getting a 1st for Freddy, nvm moreIf the Bruins are out of a playoff spot by the trade deadline, they have some interesting players that could be involved in a trade.
1. Marchand: (UFA) I would be surprised if they did trade him only if he plans to resign in Boston in the summer. Likely would receive a 1st, 2nd and a prospect.
2. Coyle: A good option for 2nd or third line center. Likely worth a 2nd and 4th round pick.
3. Frederic: (UFA) A coveted player who is young, tough and can put the puck in the net. I think Boston should resign him but if the price is too high you sell. He could easily get a late first and a prospect.
4. Carlo: Big right handed defenseman which many teams could use in a playoff run. Manageable contract. Likely a 1st or 2nd round pick plus.
5. Brazeau: (UFA) Big forward who is coming into his own. Either resign or trade. 2nd or 3rd round pick
5. Korpisalo: Bruins goaltending staff have helped him find his groove again. DiPeitro is waiting in the wings so Bruins can afford to move him. 3rd round pick maybe.
Yes he kills penalties, yes he plays to his size though Bruins fans often wish he played angrier and was less respectful, he is big and he finishes his checks, he will finish with over 200 hits, skating is very good and he’s super athletic. Up until this year he was a very strong 5on5 producer.whats the scouting report on Fredric.
Does he PK , does he play to his size? big and phsyical? how is his skating.
I’m sure about everyone is available but I’m focusing on the pieces that are most likely to be tradedThe bruins are dead in the water, they just don’t know it yet. The past couple seasons were their last chance. They need to sell whatever they can and get ahead of the rebuild before a couple years of mediocrity force their hand. They have no prospects, all of their new contracts are underperforming and their good home grown players are aging. It’s going to be steady decline from here on out. I think everyone should be available from their POV, for the right price.
I think most B’s fans hope we’re sellers. We are just a poorly constructed team. We don’t necessarily need a full rebuild we do however need to retool because the pieces we have at the moment don’t seem to work togetherBruins throwing in the towel? After a summer where they signed Lindholm and Zadorov to big dollars, would they be sellers at the TDL?
We still need a prospect pool. My target would be picks and prospects. We need some cheap skill guys coming up through our system. We can also flip those assets even in the off season to address team needs. The idea is to get as many pieces of value as we canAre we going for a retool or rebuild? A late/mid pick are unlikely to help this team until Pasta, Swayman, McAvoy are all in their 30s.
I feel like if it's a retool then targeting prospects that are approaching NHL ready is probably a better option.
Pass. They'd likely get a better offer.
Unfortunately, we don’t have last years version of Frederic but I think it’ll be a 2nd and a 4th as the ultimate return. There should be multiple teams interested so squeezing out that extra little piece may not be a stretch. But I do agree that I don’t see him bringing a firstTrent Frederic isn't getting a first, especially after that Jeannot fiasco. Teams will be super hesitant in that.
Mid/late 2nd? Sure, that's a possibility.
Andrew Copp rental fetched a few 2nds recently. Coyle at 50% retained could get that tooCoyle is definitely not a 2C on any contending team. He’s a 5.25M third liner. They’ll be paying teams to take him.

Downside is he’s not Tom Wilson. He doesn’t hit to hurt, and he can’t beat up heavyweights though he is willing to try. Energy level is inconsistent too, but some of that could be the Bruins lack of talent this year and the shuffling of line mates. He looks good with Coyle, he looks good with Poitras, he gets criticized when he centers Brazeau and Wahlstrom. Also, he's probably going to want $4-5M on his next deal.
He literally screams the guy that's going to be paid more than he's ever worth. It's why Bruins fans expect him to be gone. There will be a huge market for him and he's young enough to not scare anyone away.Somebody is going to have bigtime regrets if they end up handing Frederic a $5M contract with term this summer. But with as much money as teams are going to have to throw around with the cap rising, and the number of lower cap teams that could use some more size in the lineup...i can't say it's not plausible that he'll have those kind of offers.![]()
We aren't worried about making the post season this year. It's a right off season and a team that clearly needs at the very least a re tool of some kindI'd love Carlo on the Oilers... he'd be perfect for us at 2RD...
I like the B's and can't think of a trade that would benefit them in making the playofffs this season as I think they need some scoring forwards. Arviddson and Gus?
I REALLY want you guys to make playoffs. Oilers are a shit trade partner for you. Which sucks. I do think you need to trade some D for some forwards though. I just feel like you guys are 2 decent NHL forwards away. I was hoping for Necas in Boston (not that I mind him for the Avs)He literally screams the guy that's going to be paid more than he's ever worth. It's why Bruins fans expect him to be gone. Yes please. Is EDM desperate enough to want Korpisalo?![]()
I don't want our GM adding to the Bruins and wasting assets. This isn't a team that gets past the first round.I REALLY want you guys to make playoffs. Oilers are a shit trade partner for you. What does it matter if you're going to rebuild? Sell high and get the most return, help the rebuild along.wanting to get rid of a 28 year old RD throws up red flags, does it not??

They are, Neely just doesn't know it yet lol...according to Neely, they aren't in any rebuild...
