Yes, I think so as well. I’m really concerned about him. If this injury is going to continue to linger, I would hope that they put him on LTIR (like the Lightning did with Kucherov), and hopefully have him ready for the playoffs. Then use that money to find a solid 2/3 C, and maybe a top 4 dman.

I think the difference is It doesn’t matter how bad your team is, Players want to do well against Toronto especially on hockey night in Canada.

Think they do that because it causes the least disruption down the lineup.
I guess they could switch Marner and Nylander.

That’s great news, but only if this means he’s as healthy as can be, and this injury does not keep reoccurring, causing him to have to sit out more games. Considering how much MLSE puts into resources for this team, I would imagine that concern was taken into account for him to return.Looks like he’s playing tonight
Excellent news IF he’s healthy enough to not re-aggravate his injury.
Bad news is he’s being paired with Marner again. This years long experiment needs to end.

It’s unusual for him to return on the start of a back to back if he’s not fully healthy.
If he still has lingering issues why not play him on the second half? I think the optics play a role as Matthews didn’t want people to be talking about how he avoided the Bruins

Needs to go out first shift and lay out Marchand lol get the first shot in because I am sure the cross checks will be coming regardless.
If Matthews issue isn't fixed enough that it reasonable won't be re-aggravated this franchise has no foresight. Saying that, I'll hope this means he's reasonably healthy and ready to go.

Those lines are as good as it's gonna get right now. It's 3 very good lines and a good defensive/energy fourth line.

That's positive, and that's why I'm feeling like he's got to be somewhat close, because he's skating with the team.
If he wasn't skating with the team I'd be really worried but he is.
So that makes me think It's not THAT bad.
