Boston @ Toronto - Saturday - 7pm - HNIC

The Bruins are looking pretty terrible this season.

Only Marchand and Pasta are on pace to get much more than 40 points on the whole season. Lindholm, Zacha, Coyle is some of the worst C depth in the entire league. And the new blueline with Zadorov has been a huge let down. And somehow Korpisalo's lousy umbers are actually better than Swayman's so far.

Finally a big matchup this year. Four days is too long to wait.
4 days....I count 2.

Subtle change last night keeping Mitch on the PP2 instead of Willy resulted in a GWG.
Another subtle change to be made is moving McMann to PP1 and sliding Knies to PP2.

I don’t think keeping Marner on PP2 resulted in a GWG…I think OEL missing the net and it bouncing to McMann resulted in the goal

Yeah good coaching move there, big part of the win.
Nylander looks like he’s back to his disinterested self, hopefully that won’t last too long.
Maybe a dinner with Pastrnak before the next game will snap him out of it.

He sure isn't disinterested in flying the d-zone though. As skilled and exciting as he can be, he still does a lot of minor hockey, selfish almost, plays. Frustrating to watch him at times.

So Nylanders normal self is disinterested? He has 15 points in the last 11 games.

Why is it that he is disinterested when he has a sub par game while others just had an off night?

Never said that was his ‘normal self’ nor that it’s gone on over ‘11 games’ but he does have a long history of disinterest that creeps in at times.

I have always wondered if it is disinterest.

He has some glaring holes in his game, like cheating for offence at times, being lazy defensively that I doubt is caused by being disinterested. I always just figured he is not a complete player. A threat to score almost every game but too many holes to be considered a Superstar.

I guess I equate laziness with disinterest.
Whatever we call it let’s hope he starts picking it up again.

Have Leafs been terrible on Saturdays this year?

I feel like they have. Just a fluke most likely but annoying.

Hopefully they get this win and put Boston even further behind them. Can't f***ing stand Boston.

Edit... looked it up on statmuse.

4-6-1 that's pretty shit

Last win on a Saturday was in November.

There's been 6 at home... 5 away.

But I thought this wasn't junior hockey bro

Willy has the ability to be the best player on the ice, but he goes through these stretches that bring him down a notch when compared to the elite group.
Disinterested Willy ALWAYS is in the defensive zone.
Engaged at all times in the offensive zone.
