Boston is last in the East

Habs and Maple Leafs fans can unite in their hatred, only for the purpose of this thread.

I cant recall a time when the habs bruins rivalry was as low as it has been since covid.

They used to play each other all the time including playoffs. They have now gone 11 years without a post season matchup which is easily the longest drought in their respective histories.

Prior to this drought, they played each other in the playoffs in 02, 04, 08, 09, 11, and 14. It was also a miracle they didnt face each other in 2010 semi finals as the bruins had a 3-0 series lead that they needed to bring home in order to make that matchup happen

Management seriously underestimated the impact of losing not one but two #1 centers they relied on for over a decade.
Didn't underestimate losing a #1 and #2 center. Replacing them is hard to do, for any organization, when a franchise is always giving up high draft picks, almost every trade deadline.

When the Bruins did have a 1st or 2nd round picks. They picked late in rounds. Trading for a #1 or #2 center is extremely difficult. Missing the playoffs was inevitable.

.

He had 8 points in those 10 games. He contributed to like half the goals the entire team scored during that stretch.

He’s surrounded by garbage lmao. You picked the only guy on the team with a pulse too attack for some reason.

Wasn't he -5 like 2 games ago?

It goes both ways. I know fans of their teams like to say when things are going well, it's all because of their best players and when things are going bad it's all because of everyone but their best players.

The team lives and dies off the best players. Pastrnak is the one that's supposed to lead them and he's leading them to last in the East. He deserves some blame. No one is expecting their 4th line center to win games for them.

He’s got twice as many points as the 2nd leading scorer on the team. Neither goalie has above a .895 save percentage.

It’s a team sport, he deserves none of the blame.

He’s going to be top 5 in points and goals by the end of tonight.

It was effectively sabotage.

Trade away a Vezina winner, let go of a Jack Adams coach, move on from the long-term captain. If the intention was to remain competitive, literally every decision was made incorrectly.

I remember people were talking about Pastrnak for Hart.

Did he quit on the team?
You think easily our best player, who has scored 50 points since the beginning of this year on his way to his fourth consecutive 40 goal season with the hat trick and 5 points tonight has quit on his team? There is a reason he is the only player currently on the ice that wears a letter. He is easily our MVP and the only reason the Bruins are not floundering in last place this season.

This retool is going to take at least two years. I wouldn’t go sign free agents to big contracts. They need another subpar season and get another high pick. The year got out of hand for many reasons as we know. Injuries, coaches, and players sucking derailed them.

Should have hired Grier for the best subpar season(s). lol

They're going to be bad for a long time.

Likely trade whatever futures they have now to try and retool and then when that plan inevitably fails in 2-3 years they'll start the full on rebuild.

Dark times ahead in Boston.

He is 4th for points in the league, tied with your soon-to-be paid 14 million dollar player
