Evason is like two weeks removed from calling Greaves an everyday guy so I’m not sure how much to believe here lol
I wonder if there is some pressure from Waddell to find out what Tarasov is. I don't have faith in him but I'd understand why a team would probably want 1 last look at their 6'5" athletic goalie to see if he could be something

Haha Zach egging the crowd on a bit with his Michigan holiday break. I don't think we'd see this Zach a couple of years ago. He's comfier and calmer, and becoming a great leader.
I'm in new York right now and was at the Devils Hurricanes game so just now catching up. All he said is that he went to Michigan for a few days it was the fans who Nick Saban said, and I quote "You know, they’ve got a psychotic obsession with Michigan and they need to go get therapy or something to try to get it fixed"

He then of course egged on the psychotic obsession from people who can't disconnect hockey from OSU football.

Ohio?!?!
I'm a little nervous about who might be playing in net.
Won't be Elvis on back to back nights.
Tarasov doesn't inspire confidence.
Jet is in Cleveland, unless he gets called up.
I mean, we have to give Tarasov one more chance I think.

I kinda want to see this 11-7 team setup go away. But obviously I can't argue tonight's results.

For years when the Browns were good (pre expansion) they had a number of players from Michigan and they were accepted as full fledged Browns no matter their college career
The same holds true for our CBJ Michigan men
They are on our side now and I am thrilled that they are

The booing was good natured. I think Z understands that.

In regards to Nick Saban’s comments, you either get it or you don’t. And he doesn’t get it. His comments held some water around the Tennessee game, but after that win, most fans I know are on board and aren’t talking about the Michigan game anymore and are quite excited about their prospects against Oregon. ESPN is very good at riling up the OSU fanbase and has done it on purpose for years.

can’t also argue Werenski play surged after we got Fabbro

Werenski was looking elite, borderline Norris contender, before Fabbro got here.

Thats not a reach, the PP is night and day differently with KJ. Marchy has also taken up a serious role on the left board. It allows Zach to just play naturally and mot have to be the QB and handle the puck all the time.

Not to mention Monahan and Vronk and you have one of the best PPs (potentially) in the league. ( top 10) Im confident they will get there with this unit. (If theyre not already there after this game)

It's not anyone else's doing. Werenski has improved in several areas, including his vision, he's looking more and seeing things he didn't use to see. This was one of the things that he had obviously been fixing up over the summer, along with his conditioning and stick. I think maybe he picked up from Josi and Hughes that they keep their head on a swivel.

Werenski used to have tunnel vision. He'd look off Panarin and not take advantage of Panarin's elite playmaking, so it's not like KJ is giving him something we've never seen before. It's just the combination of things - we now have all five guys on the PP who seem to be perfect for their roles.

Different topic for a different time but I think Osu fans do a pretty good job of riling themselves up. Of course it is good natured ribbing with the players we have from Michigan as nd nothing personal. But the unhealthy part is how OSU football needs to be constantly injected into unrelated topics In daily life around town. People don’t ever seem to bring up other rivalries constantly in day to day life.

^^ Yeah what I care about is that Zach probably understood the good natured part of it and egged that on, to (continue to) build a bit of a fun personal relationship with it and owning the fact he's from Michigan and there's this whole thing going.

I feel the Zach from a couple of years ago would have just sat there and ignore the boos, not knowing what to do with it. He seems more comfortable with his role now and he can have fun with the rivalry a bit, knowing his role and position in the team is secure and fans are not going to turn on him etc.

(I myself barely understand the whole rivalry thing so I'm just focusing on Zach here.)

It most certainly is other players doing. Werenski isnt holding the puck and the main problem of the powerplays of the past was Zach holding the puck at the point being the one feeding one timers. If you notice, he still isn't good at one time passes.

KJ and Marchy are doing the majority of the playmaking and Zach is being put into areas to shoot the puck. Zach has improved this year but he's not Shayne Ghostisbehere running the PP. There's been a clear emphasis from the staff to let KJ do the majority of the playmaking where as previous coaches let Werenski do it all.

They are finally utilizing Zach in the best way, as a trigger man who can also create below the top of the circles.

I think Sabans comments were due to the fact Day and his family were getting death threats, and required 24x7 protection following the game . Also , Saban coached here at Ohio State for a couple years , pretty sure he gets it …

Like I said, I think Saban's words held more water prior to the Tennessee game. Because literally everyone was still talking about the Michigan game. Now, nobody is.

And those fans that doxxed Day and threatened his family are idiots and cowards. There's no defending that.

I know Saban coached here, which is alarming that he doesn't get it. But I know plenty of people who were born here, watch football, went to the university, and they don't get it either.
