1. What does Frondell have to do with the 2026/2027 drafts?

2. Frondell is often viewed as the 3rd or 4th best forward prospect in this draft… so you think there could be 3-4 top 10 forwards in the NHL coming from what is considered a poor top end draft?

There is a small chance anyone is this draft ever becomes as valuable as Pastrnak

Being in the 4th spot as of now for the draft lottery will be a good start. That position's odds are a 9.5% shot at getting Matthew Schaefer for 1st overall. They could also drop to 7th spot by season's end. According to the rules, they could lose 2 spots at the most and end up drafting 9th. The lottery will happen May 5th or 6th.

It can't dip much lower frankly. I want to make an excuse or say there is light at the end of the tunnel, but he has been terrible.

Their plan is for a quick retool.

Not sure why anyone in their position would skip the re-tool and go full rebuild. If the re-tool succeeds they're back in the mix. If the re-tool fails, then they can still rebuild without losing anything. Any long-term contracts are likely to be over by the time a full rebuild is done anyway.

The risk is not being able to compete during Pastas window, if they try to rush it too much and create a limited ceiling

The market has 1 elite player and 2 quality players that would help to address their needs

Unless they land Marner 1 offseason fix is pretty imposisble

The goal is to get more top talent. Obviously a 1C is best but there won't be any available this offseason unless there's a major falling out between a 1C and their team between now and June. How they get that top talent? I have no idea.

Even if this was an option other teams have more assets than the bruins who are also looking for centers. Mtl is looking for one too and we have 3 1sts we could put in play alongside our prospect pool not named Demi, Reinbacher or Fowler

If Boston goes into full rebuild, maybe a trade around Mcavoy for Power would make sense for both teams. Buffalo gets a RD veteran to help them get to the playoffs and Boston gets a 22 year old 1st overall pick defenseman to help start the rebuild.
