I dunno, this was relevant at the league level IMO. Partly because it was a disaster in a vacuum, and partly because it’s an escalation of a long running story around that leadership group.

Kind of like Larkin’s presser comments the other day, or the Oilers debacle a few years back.

It’s really no different than the start of the season when they lied about swayman and contract offers. These guys are idiots who are going to set the franchise back many years, they inherited a great team with great players and has rode the coattails of Beregeron, Marchand and Chara. Team is a joke under them

Problem is their whiffs (mostly) all come in the first round where most of the top end talent is. McAvoy and Pasta were exceptions, but after McAvoy their first rounders are Vaakanainen, Beecher, Lysell and Letourneau.

If you go back all the way to 2000 (25 years ago), their only good first round picks are Mark Stuart, Phil Kessel, Tyler Seguin, Dougie Hamilton, David Pastrnak and Charlie McAvoy. Kessel, Seguin, Hamilton were all top 10 picks, and they traded all of them away after just a couple of years for 'character issues'. Everyone else they have picked in the first round has been a dud.
