In their first meeting this season, the Senators defeated the Bruins 3-2 in overtime. Josh Norris and Michael Amadio both scored for the Senators and Brady Tkachuk potted the overtime winner. The game saw a strong defensive effort from the Senators, who held the Bruins without a shot for the entirety of the third period.

Sens will win. Ottawa is already playing playoff hockey.

Ottawa compared themselves to Boston for so many years they not only want to win but show Boston they are the better team now. It’s going to be Ottawa dominating play on the puck and physically.

This is literally a massive step forward for this franchise and they’ll Deliver

I'll be at the game too, will be nice to Leevi and his sparkling stats. But last game i remember from Forsy was pretty good too. If this was golf it would be moving day. Moving up the standings. Huge opportunity this aft., Come on Sens, find a way. Play your game.

Playing Leevi today is fine. But playing 4sberg against the better team in NJ tomorrow is pretty much giving up on the 2 points tomorrow.

Makes sense playing the much better goalie against a team we're directly competing with for a playoff spot.

4 point game versus a game against a team we won't catch in the standings.

Has it been reported that we are playing Forsberg?

It wouldn't surprise me if we keep playing Leevi until the wheels fall off. Nothing about his deployment so far has been conventional, and I would imagine that their logic is that when Ullmark returns, Leevi will barely have to play so they can run him into the ground now and let him recover later.

Forsberg has not played since the Buffalo game, and the team has not won a game with him since November. They are 2-7-1 in the last 10 games Forsberg played.

Last week or so, I thought no way they run with Leevi for every single game, because I was using the conventional thinking that goalies need rest. Looking at how they operated so far with Leevi, my guess now is that Forsberg will only play if Leevi can't go - and otherwise Leevi will continue to start every game.

On the topic of us playing Forsberg, I can see the logic of playing Forsberg against the better team. That being, Forsberg against either team is an uphill battle to get the win with our current roster. Leevi against Boston is more likely to be a win than Leevi against the Devils. So we should take the better chance at going 1-1 by giving Leevi the easier game than the higher risk that we go 0-2.

If we didn't play 19 hours after today's game is over, they may have considered playing Leevi again, but I can't see it happening with that tight turn around.

Here is to a solid game and a big win this afternoon to kick off Hockey Day in Canada!

If we weren't playing a back to back with less than 24 hours between puck drops sure. But it's kinda tough on everyone, especially goalies, no matter how young they are.
