Martin St Louis was 5'7 too. Its not about how small you are, its how you use your size. Escapability, and when you're a gifted scorer, you will continue being that.

Savard ciccarelli fluery..

I don't recall exact sizes but I am fairly certain all under 6 ft.

Of course the litany of other smallish forwards who never cut it as well.

Overall how do you grade the Bruins 2016 draft?

I gave them a B. Whenever you can come out of a draft with 2 potential top 4 d-man you've done extremely well, and anything else is a bonus.

Overdramatizing on McAvoy much?

Nah the hits were as bad as Im saying.

I ignored the McAvoy thread so I don't hate on him in there and sometime in July I'll accept the pick for what it is and get behind him to develop and help the team but I am extremely disappointed with it. The terrible 2nd first rounder from a trade we all thought we clearly won doesn't make matters any better.

Not to mention I would bet my life that all 3 of our 2nd round D prospects taken in the last 2 years turn out better than the 2 1sts. So that just sucks given who we passed on and chose over them both years there was top line talent on the board.

What would have been wrong with Bellows you still get the same benefit of watching him develop @BU? Sinden taking Kluzak over his dad 30 some years ago still stings a little bit.

I don't know a single thing about any of these players so can't comment until I see them in a Bruins uniform . I am always amazed at just how much hockey some people here seem to watch . During the regular season I watch the Bruins and that's it .

McAvoy was the guy I wanted, so I was happy about that pick. Saw him several times this year, serious upside there.

Beyond that I haven't seen these guys play so I'm not sure how I (we?) can grade them. I don't buy the "trade back" argument. Did anyone trade up in the second round? No, so how could we trade back without a dance partner?

That said, definitely disappointed in the lack of trade activity.

Tampa traded for 37, I'd take Deangelo over Frederic any day

Happy with picks 1 and 3, drafting Frederic in the first round feels like drafting Mark Stuart all over again. Hopefully he has a lengthy career in Boston contributing from the 3rd line.

When you need a top 6 winger, and a top 4 defender. You walk away with less than you should of from the draft table. I would call this an F.

Almost every team needs a Top 6 W and a Top 4 D.

So I guess a lot of teams failed this weekend.

Hindsight is wonderful. But you'd have a hard time finding a Bruin's fan at the time complaining about the pick. Especially after seeing how mobile and intimidating he was at the blue line........until he hurt is knee. Many of us have lamented, not so much about Brian Bellows, but what could have been with Bourque and Big Klu on defense for a decade or so.

What's sad is that Sinden had the second pick as well and traded it to Minnesota which selected Bellows.

I'm going A for Lindgren since I said before they picked 29 he was one of 5-10 players I would take.

I would have wanted Fabbro McAvoy then Chychrun so B there

Frederic I can only go by the stuff in the Hockey News and it's very positive and he was rated mid second but I go incomplete

Kirk liked Clarke

Lindgren makes this for me - Frederic is gravy

No complaints they got 5 defense that can move in past 2 years. Super happy with that

This is me pretty much. So I will just say "welcome to the Bruins guys , I hope you are successful here"

Youre not getting a top pairing for that.

The ask is more as evident by Shatt and Fowler and related reports.

We have enough 4-7 guys.

You cant pay Watertown prices for Weston real estate.

And I think they were also asking on players a level above Shatt and Fowler, which is a good thing.

I think it is important that Sweeney know simply adding another 4 doesn't move the needle for this team.

They need to go BIG or stay home and wait for the next gen. Preferably they go big and find someone who can lead the next gen

Guys like that generally don't get traded.

So the draft has passed. Shattenkirk is still a Blue. Reports are prices on Top 4 D are softening.

If you use Boston's 2017 1st and Spooner as the basis of a deal, what more do they need to add to convince St. Louis to cough up Shattenkirk?

I'd rather not deal from Boston's prospect depth on D, but begger's cant be choosers as they say. I would be willing to add another young forward not named Vatrano or Pastrnak.

Possibly add Edmonton's 2017 2nd rounder instead of a prospect but I'm not sure if Boston is even allowed to trade that pick right now.

I'd also gladly toss in one of McQuaid or Hayes but that might sour the pot more than sweeten it.

My guess would be a top prospect/asset that doesnt require expansion protection. But I dont have time tonight to figure that out.

:D

I gave him an F not because of the players he took, since we honestly won't know what they are for years, but for failing to fill any of their current holes on the roster.

I don't know if that pizza is good but I give it a F, not because this pizza might not be good, but because I did not get a beer with it.

What was the question again? Will this pizza be good? Well, F. Because of lack of beer.

That makes sense...
