Finnish Jerk Train
lol stupid mickey mouse organization
Sorry folks, I was going to put more effort into this GDT before I had a date run for 6 hours tonight. We watched football all evening. On a first date. And it was her idea. I think I might ask her to marry me. Anyway, this one is not going to be particularly GIMPtastic. I'll do better next time.
Anyway, through a quirk of the NFL and NHL schedules, two Boston-area teams are travelling to North Carolina for games at the same time on Monday night, albeit in separate cities. Due to this confusion, the pilots took off from Logan and flew their respective teams to the wrong cities, forcing the Boston Bruins to play the Carolina Panthers on MNF, while the New England Patriots find themselves in Raleigh for a matchup against the Carolina Hurricanes. Fortunately, the Celtics did not have a date with the Bobcats, thereby avoiding complete and utter chaos.
Lineups
Carolina Hurricanes
Based on morning skate/ever-changing Twitter updates/guesswork in the bottom six
Ruutu - E. Staal - Bowman
Gerbe - J. Staal - Dwyer
Tlusty - Nash - Terry
Komisarek - Malhotra - Dvorak
Sekera - Faulk
Hainsey - Bellemore
Gleason - Murphy
Ward
Peters
New England Patriots
Amendola - Brady - Gronkowski
Solder - Connolly - Cannon
Mankins - Edelman - Ridley
Blount - Wendell - Hoomanawanui (just because of the name)
Talib - Hightower
Collins - Spikes
Ninkovich - Jones
The other guy named Jones
Blount
Injuries
Carolina - Khudobin, Westgarth, Semin, Skinner, Harrison?
New England - Dennard, Gregory
Patriots win 5-1. Ron Hainsey scores six goals. Bill Belichick bucks tradition, wears hoodie behind the bench.
Panthers win 77-3, racking up 900 yards of total offense along the way. Shawn Thornton kicks the lone field goal for the Bruins. Boston fans learn Patrice Bergeron can throw a wicked good spiral (their words, not mine), but none of his receivers can catch it.
Also, Adam McQuaid will not play due to a leg injury.
