Fair enough and why I believe the split in Boston's fanbase regarding him reflects the split in Vancouver's fanbase regarding his value and if they should move him before the NTC kicks in.Not thanks from the Bruins. We need some draft capital. Our pipeline is empty. Our board has talked about the first two pieces being in play for Petterson but not adding that other 1st. I'm not really interested in a hope and prayer for that pick. If Petterson doesn't come back to form that's an albatross.
So much risk/reward on both sides.
I personally think Boston is in more of a win-now mode than Vancouver and that the Canucks taking a top 7 pick this year who is ready in the first year of Quinn's new contract is more valuable than the Bruins wasting two years of McAvoy, Pastrnak and companies (I believe Boston's core players are older than Vancouver's and are larger in number) prime years.
I also expect the pick to be a top line player in 2 years. Is that too late?
As for the Toronto pick, we all loved the Seguin era of watching the Leafs tank for the Bruins but I don't see that group missing the playoffs anytime soon so that pick is a 1st in a deep draft that solidifies the trade for the Canucks knowing they are getting 3 assets for their distressed one now.
More risk/rewards.
