Post-Game Talk: BOS @ NYR | Still Alive

Also, Kreider made the right move to get on the inside of Hamilton. If he went left instead of right, he's covered.

It was a small but savvy decision. Like Marchand going to the outside of Girardi on that goal to open the 3rd period in Game 2.

Fans are sometimes too harsh on players for getting beat on a play, forgetting that they're going up against professionals just as good if not better than them.

There's some miscommunication between Chara and Hamilton too. Dougie did absolutely nothing to warn Chara about Derek Stepan bearing down on him.

They key to the rest of this series will be to play some smashmouth hockey against Boston's young D. Make them feel uncomfortable.

I know Krug scored again last night, but he wasnt as comfortable or dynamic as previous games.

I said it after the Toronto series, and I'll say it now. Chara is playing like he's old, slow and tired. Nothing like his previously dominant self. He still has a stick that's like 16 feet long, but that's his only real advantage anymore.

If he was on the Rangers people would be jumping to his defense here, speculating he must be hurt...that's how far below his normal level he's been playing.

Toronto completely marginalized Chara, and we're starting to do it too. Hopefully not too late.

He was the culprit on 2 of our goals, doesn't like to be hit hard and knocked down, which Kreids and Boyle have done this series

To think that this essentially saved our season. Wow.

Tuukka Rask morphed into Grant Fuhr for a few seconds.....

“@NYDNRangers: #NYR conducting optional practice today. None of injured players (Clowe, Staal, Powe, Stralman) are on ice with the big group”

The puck flew straight up in the air off Hanks mask and almost went in then bounced right to a bruin, thats a lucky bounce for the Rangers?
A puck moving towards the goal line will bounce in that direction most times.

We got very lucky with Rask and Chara making bonehead plays.

BUT, that's what happens when you put some pressure on the opponent instead of playing perimeter hockey.

Do not like the fact that Saturday's game in on NBCSN.

Rangers are better on CNBC and MSG.

Do you think the performance of the team is in any way affected by the network broadcasting the game? If they haven't fared well on NBCSN I'm thinking it's because they didn't play well during those days. Play better and the result will be better.

I know we likely will, but I really hope to not see the Haley-Newbury-Dorsett line in Game 5.

They put 5 shots towards net, allowed 10 shots. Took one stupid penalty.

How wrong you are. Rangers have an 18-1 record when Tortorella wears a blue tie. There's a huge correlation between networks and the team's play too. If both commentators have hair our chances of winning are exponentially higher. In addition, if Ron Duguay is wearing a blue curtain as a blazer we have a 100% winning percentage.

Noob.

Jonathan said something along the lines of "We don't go to OT in game 1 except Hank let in 2 bad goals." Kwayry said that Hank shouldn't get any blame whatsoever. I said he does get blame but the forwards get blame as well.

Kwayry then accused me multiple times of blaming Hank and Hank alone so I kept trying to clarify that I was blaming both for game 1. He also kept saying I was excusing the offense in game 1 so I kept clarifying that I was indeed blaming the offense as well. He kept putting words in my mouth and kept accussing me of things I did not say and I kept clarifying. He also said Hank deserves no blame whatsoever for his goals because in the end he only let in 2. I explained why I felt you can assign some blame to a goalie even if it is a 2.00 GAA game and that stats are not everything. I had no intention of having this convo go so long but when someone cannot read basic things and constantly puts words in your mouth you have to clarify.

In the end even after clarifying MULTIPLE times he STILL ended the convo by quoting the very first thing I said, ignored all of the clarifying that I did, incorrectly paraphrased me and ran away. I want to give him one of those anime punches where the character either gets humorously launched in the distance or beaned across the back of the noggin lol

Also we are big boys you can call me out by name and I will respond, defend my position or clarify myself as necessary which I hope I did here

A bunch of people were calling Henrik out. If it was just you I would have quoted you. It's an opinion I don't agree with. Nothing personal just a disagreement of where the fault lies. Either way, nothing we can do about the first 4 games. Gotta keep looking ahead.

Agreed.

I don't know if you let Richie play but Newbury shouldn't be on the ice.

It's the price you pay for energy. Hard to find a pulse on this team. Newbury was one of the few that was giving it his all the entire game. Takes stupid penalties, not defensively stellar, but adds grit and energy, which is what the Rangers need.

If that line doesn't get trapped against an offensively superior one (i.e. any line besides the Bruins 4th) they won't be too big of a liability.
