To me, it's simple. If this is the only impact move the Red Sox make, the trade isn't logical. They very likely still aren't good enough to contend right now or in 2026.

If they can add 1-2 more impact players and are truly going for it, then I like it for them.

Phillies miss on another

The Phillies will be ok: Bryce wants to win.

I'm a Yanks fan and Reds fan. This is as a Vancouver native and I have my teams but I gravitate towards Jays and Mariners as surrogate teams.
