GDT: BOS @ BUF - 7pm - The Delaware North Classic

TT and JJ finished plus 6 each, first time 2 players have done that for the Sabres since Mogilny was here. per wgr.

First time two Sabres had hat tricks in a game since 2008.

Owen Power must have heard some chatter about Vancouver rumors (alot further from Mississauga), his charts were through the roof tonight.

Saw the final score and decided to watch a recording of the game.

I'm still early into the 1st period, but my god there are a lot of Bruins fans in the lower bowl. They greatly outnumber Sabres fans.

It's what this team deserves until they prove otherwise.

Traffic apparently was bad around the arena because of this.

Now put someone through the zamboni doors and let’s party like the old days.
Wayne cashman and shony ( found a Brian Spenser autograph this team could use him like hollins) you'd stand and lean over from oranges to keep watching that masterpiece

Harris is a bum hood is a bum carriere only one drove me nuts like thus group has, but not tonight

Pretty neat to finish with +6 while having a xGF% of 35%.

I get it we are all underwhelmed, but c’mon these are the EFFING Bruins. Dig deep and channel that anger into some vitriol. I hate the Bs
Can you also please motivate the Sabres for their remaining games?
Wow. Second period of a game and there’s one page in the GDT. Priceless.
I woke up in the chair last night about 10:00, looked at thread without knowing outcome, but knew game must be over given start time, and there were 69 posts. When I realized they won 7-2, I decided to watch on DVR
I wonder how often has a double hat trick happened in an nhl game?

Amazing
The one I'll always remember is Gretzky chasing 50 goals in 50 games in the early 1980s. Scores a hat trick in Buffalo to get it. Oilers won 6-3. Perreault had a hattie for the Sabres.
Might have been our most complete game of the year, all things considered.
Goals scored on the rush, and good-look shots from the middle of the high slot. Yes, you under-achievers, it can be done!!
It's games like this that usually lead to sweeping changes in the other team.
Bruins were a strong negative goal differential entering the game, despite their overall standings points / 1st wild card east slot. Historically, a positive goal differential at season's end means playoff qualifier, and negative is playoff miss. There are usually a couple teams in each conference near net zero which cross that line, but it's a pretty good correlation over the current 16 of 32 team NHL format.

The Bruins fans were clearly vocal on the NESN broadcast I had after the opening Bruins goal. NESN without Jack Edwards is borderline tolerable. Kinda like Kimchi as compared to Ipecac syrup.

Ok. I can pause my complaining for a second to soak up a little bit of joy knowing they laid the smackdown on Boston.

I was at one about 40 years ago at the old Aud. Calgary came to town and my friends and I went hoping to see Don Edwards in goal for Calgary. Reggie Lemelin played and got lit up.

Sabres won 11-2. Lemelin was in goal for all of them. I believe it was Foligno and Perreault who had hatties for the Sabres. I’m almost positive about Foligno. It may have been Andreychuk with him but I definitely remember two hat tricks.

I feel like I was at a Nordiques/Sabres game that was pretty high scoring.....like 7-6 or 8-6 or something of the like......and we had a double hatty scored against us. Stastny and Goulet maybe?

I was working and had the broadcast on in my car... when I had cellular signal. When one can truthfully text "hey, this is the nicest dirt road I've ever driven on" as part of the evening conversation with the better half, it points at how far into the sticks one can get.
