he has some size and some skill but this pick up won't improve the overall team speed which I think is the more pressing concern right now.

That being said, they appear to be very deep down the middle and can use a decent offensive winger if he can pan out. It's a low risk shot in the dark effort to generate more offense.

I don't really see it working out. He's just got far too narrow a skillset to really be successful in a Top-6 role, and doesn't have any of the traits you'd want in a Bottom-6 Winger. But whatever i guess. It's just a waiver claim...not a lot invested in the project if/when it doesn't work out.

If they can somehow make him utilize the tremendous shot he has, then he might become a useful player. If not, he'll be in Sweden next year.
He has a goal scorer shot and that is exactly what they are missing, I few weeks ago when the Bruins played the Islanders, Brock Nelson displayed exactly what the Bruins lack other than Pasta, someone who just can find that spot and score from, maybe this pickup is what the Bruins can use because they don't have it now.

That's Wahlstrom's problem, I would argue he has a high end skills competition level shot(both slapper and wrister) what he lacks is he can't find the spots. Who knows maybe he can find a player on the Bruins who will open the ice a bit for him and he can use it. Maybe it's coachable to get him to find the open spot on the ice, but he's gone through 3 coaches already in NY who couldn't(or didn't) teach him that

You could be right, but at 24 first round pick, at a low cost, did not cost assets, no risk in my book, but the reward. If he should workout, that opens up an opportunity, that you have other assets that can be involved in a trade, as part of a package if needed.

My ex wife just got divorced from her latest victim. I do not want her back
My money is she doesn't want you back either:D
