Just can't listen to that moron.

I like Boomsie, even if some of feelings for the Rangers and towards opposite teams seem contrived and forced. Not saying he isn't any less of a fan, but sometimes he seems as if he's playing it up for the sake of the show or something.

As for Carton, he's the classic "can dish it but can't take it" type of guy. Cannot stand him.

I listen mainly to hear Boomer talk Rangers as he is the only one on NY sports radio that is knowledgeable about them. Sometimes I can handle Carton, but other times he just really rubs me the wrong way.

I can't stand hearing Francessa talk about the Rangers though as he has no clue what he's talking about. He even referred to Stepan as "Stefan" the other day.

What's with callers who call up to these shows now that the Rangers are doing well, they're on the bandwagon and watching which is good, but they say stuff like "my friends used to make fun of me for watching hockey..." (heard Don Legreca mention this the other day from a tweet he got or something) who makes fun of someone for liking a sport that they don't? It's hockey, not ballet.

Haha it happens all the time. One jackass I went to law school with went out of his way to rip me during the 2012 run all the time. Best part is, he's a Dolphins/Mets/Knicks fan, and would always get super upset when I'd bring any of them up in retort.

I listen every morning in my office. I think they do a good job and help me kill a couple hours.

My dad would **** on my uncle for watching hockey a lot. My uncles is one of the big reasons I'm a ranger fan. My dad's toned it down since my brothers and I have become ranger crazies.

I just don't see being a fan of a sport as something to rip on someone about. Rip on someone for the team they root for, sure I see that.

But to rip on someone for liking a sport? Especially hockey?

"You're so lame, enjoying that sport that is extremely fast paced, chaotic and yet graceful, surgical and yet barbaric. Anything can happen, the pace is faster than any other team sport, the players are skilled and tough, the sport is amazing live. You're so lame! Ha ha!"

Then an inner monologue as he's saying that "I really just don't understand the rules and can't keep up with the pace so I dismiss the sport and make fun of people because it pains me to not understand a sport"

I disagree. Joe and Evan both talk a fair amount of decent hockey and Steve Somers probably talks more Rangers than anyone on the station.

its a good show, the booms is a diehard NYR fan to the max.. probably wouldv'e played in the NHL if he could too

Carton likes hockey, and its not that he doesn't want to cover it but he discusses the sports that get high ratings.. yankees yankees, knicks and NFL.. booms does a good job at constantly pushing the NYR talk..

I appreciate Boomer so much especially when I turn on wfan after Rangers win to hear NOTHING BUT RANGERS TALK and that bore fest Richard Neer is talking baseball. I GIVE UP. Sorry for the rant guys. Just had to.

Carton is a complete fool, I don't understand how he has a job. He doesn't know sports and he isn't funny. On top of all that he has a voice like nails on a chalkboard.

It's either him, Mike and Mike, Imus, or Evan and Phillips. IMO Evan and Phillips are the best by far, but you need Sirius.

Carton is one of the most annoying radio personalities in human history.

He's worse than Michael Kay, although he's different kind of ****** bag.

He's a liar, a coward.....not sure how to separate the person from the show persona.

This was a good one.

Gotta give Carton credit. He rallied behind the Rangers today. Says (rightfully so) that they are the ONLY story up until the end of the playoffs.

Still annoying, however.

I've always had a healthy respect for Steve Somers (schmoozing S-P-O-R-T-S). I mean, the guy comes from Sacramento and probably didn't know a hockey puck from a burnt bagel when he got here, but he's always had a lot of time for hockey callers, and has openly professed a love of the Rangers.

I think he came to appreciate the NHL and its players a bunch of years ago when Pat Verbeek graciously agreed to be on his show after a Devils playoff loss. I think that's how the story goes as to how Somers became a hockey fan.

Good point. I actually really enjoy Steve Somers and he definitely does talk about the Rangers. I never get to hear Joe & Evan so I didn't realize they talk about hockey.

They were saying yesterday that they have opened the show with hockey basically every day since mid-April.

The problem is that Joe's analysis isn't really that great. Surprisingly, today Evan said that it "feels like the Rangers' year" because they came back from the 3-1 deficit, but forgot about the Kings' 3-0 comeback against SJ.
