Vancouver press started the 2011 playoffs telling the world how Vancouver wasn't that good of a team and how they'd be lucky to win the first round. Then the 2nd. 3rd.

Vancouver media is about the only thing harder on the Vancouver canucks team than it's fans...or people who populate vancouver trade threads on HF just to gate keep things

I have absolutely no recollection of this, Vancouver media said this?

I remember eastern media and even that absolute dope Scott Burnside saying it, but not our own media.

Basically if you do the opposite of Drance says you are closer to the truth then if you believe him lol
Well, he's been on the money for the entirety of the Canucks trajectory during the Benning era. And the beginning of the JR/Allvin era.

Literally no one said this.

Everyone thought the Canucks were a contender in 2011. Because they were.

It wouldnt cost much at all to obtain Boeser and this coming from a Canuck fan.

Canucks likely would be happy with the cap space it opens up.

3rd/4th- B level prospect should get it done.

Anything really as long as there isnt salary coming back.

Boeser is still a fantastic sniper and playmaker. His issues are and will be his skating. He doesnt move his feet enough and gets caught puck watching a lot when the Canucks dont have the puck.

The absolute second the Canucks drew the Hawks every local pundit was saying they might not be able to slay the dragon, that the hawks were their kryptonite. The moment it went to game 5, then 6, then 7 the entirety of the media in vancouver from the cryptkeeper to ol sniffy mcgee (rip) was saying the team was fragile and couldn't do it. Round two they said the Preds defense was potentially something they couldn't overcome until kesler went beast mode. Sahrks? Same thing, kept pumping the lack of success against the sharks going back numerous years.

While nobody outright stated they were not going to win a single game/round, there was unending doubt heaped on the team to start each round and especially the first round the moment they started losing games. Against the sharks it was "they don't want to go back to san jose, they can't win in san jose"

Vancouver media sh*ts on this team harder than anyone and kind of always have. Going all the way back to the 90s

With the success the Jets are having currently it doesn't make sense to make any big changes at this time that aren't obviously good deals. Appleton will be back in a while and Ehlers is pegged for February. I think management will wait until later in the season when cap hits are less for the season and they have a better idea of where they stand in the playoff race. The Jets can use help with RW but they have two players out with injury who will fill those roles. Chevy has always been patient and won't rush to make moves. The current group is playing well and getting great results. Ehlers return will be the equivalent of a big acquisition for the team.
The team can revisit options closer to the trade deadline.

Agreed. And if the team is looking to add for the playoffs, I don't see them going for Boeser who carries 2 more years at over 6 million dollars as a guy they would be looking at. Especially if the team wants to try and re-sign guys like Scheifele and Hellebucyk this offseason.

Much more likely to try and add a cheaper depth piece IMO.

Ya I think a more desperate team would be a better fit

Can’t say I disagree based on how the market has been set and Boesers salary.

For that reason, I see no reason for Vancouver to trade him at this time. May as well just keep him for a couple years then trade him as a rental when he’ll have more value.
theyre probably trying to trade him to make room to sign horvat. team is directionless.

The jets have all ready taken a cap dump from Vancouver in defenceman Schmidt (5.9 mill) …. For a 3 round pick….

We do not need to pick up another Cap dump 0f (6.6 mill ) for another 3 round pick!

How are ex Jet cast offs Tucker Poolman 2.5 mill and Tyler Myers 6 mill doing this year on Vancouvers Roster?

The jets do not need to keep bailing Vancouver out fir the bad decisions they make!

i think the price is either a 2nd in 2024 and an expiring contract or a 3rd in 2023 with an expiring contract. Anything less than that the Canucks will hold on to him.

In a vacuum, a Roslovic/Boeser swap may make sense. Two guys who have run out of rope in their current organizations.

That said… I don't think CBJ does that even if they commit to Kent Johnson at center. Would seemingly only serve to block Marchenko, and it's a lot of money to take on.

Yes. Ususally when Drance says something contrversal its proven wrong within the season. Like him saying Boeser isnt injury prone and our best defensive forward
That's an opinion or take on the player, not on what the market indicates. He's been doing these "trade value tiers" for canucks players for like 4 years now and he's been literally spot on with every single player for the canucks.

We were told Roslovic was the perfect #2C.

lol i'm probably the biggest jack roslovic hater in the whole cbj fandom lol so i'm not exactly an unbiased source but i'm over him

he's really fun (in a chaotic, stupid way) when he's on. tons of talent. just super inconsistent compete level, poor vision and weird decision-making.

that said he's developed into a really nice penalty killer, which i didn't think would ever happen. my bigger issue is that he tries too hard to be a flashy, creative playmaker (which he's not suited to do) instead of just being a sniper, which he'd be very good at.
