Would have to be Pettersson for Barzal. If Vancouver has no interest in trading Pettersson there is nothing there getting Barzal.
I would rather have Dubois and his size and physicality over Barzal's skill. This is a lot closer than than you list. Dubois is a force this year and a better example of what he brings.Except that Barzal is significantly better than Dubois and Boeser is significantly lesser than Laine.
Barzal is worth more but why would Vancouver do this? They're already committed to Horvat and Pettersson. Also Boeser is one of the most popular guys in the room. Part of the "squad" clique. The lesser known guys like Josh Leivo and Motte always speak highly of him like he's their best friend on the team. His stats might not show it but he's basically unmoveable except for a killer deal.
The players, especially Horvat and Hughes were fairly upset with the loss of Tanev and Markstrom. Tanner Pearson extension was most likely to appease Horvat.

Similar to Laine for Dubois I guess. I could see it but Vancouver has to add a bit most likely. Depends if Boeser keeps this going and Barzal keeps being stagnant

Sure, if Boeser scores 80 goals in two years and Barzal demands a trade. Then it will be like Laine for Dubois.
Naw. Barzal and Dubois are maybe even. Barzal is more fun to watch, but he's not better.

I am not understanding why Pettersson has been brought up in trade threads lately. Does he have a disagreement over how he's being used? Are Canucks fans comfortable with Miller being 1C all the time? Is Gallant's system one people don't think EP can handle?
I would understand a Barzal/Pettersson swap if both seemed unhappy but Barzal seems to love being "the man" on the Island.
Boeser is just as valuable as LaineSure, if Boeser scores 80 goals in two years and Barzal demands a trade. Then it will be like Laine for Dubois.

Barzal is one of the most overrated players in the NHL.
So would he be overrated if the Canucks have him or is this a thing because he plays for the Islanders?Barzal is one of the most overrated players in the NHL.
No he's overrated in general. Perimeter player who dissapears for long spurts. So would he be overrated if the Canucks have him or is this a thing because he plays for the Islanders?
Barzal is pretty much all over like a rover offensively. But doesn’t he play the centre role defensively?Barzal barely takes any face-offs. He is barely a center.
Vamcouver does this because it's a considerable upgrade of a player. It's moot because the Islanders would never move a young 1C for a streaky winger. But either way you're asking the wrong question.
Only 178 so far this year, but he is at 49%. Of course he plays C on d, Trotz is his coach. Commenting on players you barely watch?Barzal barely takes any face-offs. He is barely a center.
I’d say the same about EP. Very very overrated player as Vancouver’s 1C.Barzal is one of the most overrated players in the NHL.
