There's no point in trading for him.

We'd have to go on a ridiculous run to make the playoffs.
I think the only point would be if another team like the Islanders is also going to offer same dollar x 7 years and FLA needs the 8th year to tip the scales.

I wouldn't do it but yeah, that would be the reason.

Reimer with $400-500k retention could be moved for a 3rd round pick. With only 2 years left @ $3million, still has a career 2.81 GAA and .914 SV% through 300+ games. He's been trending towards his normal numbers the last 10 games.

Our 2019 1st has a lot more value than what a contender's 1st will hold and makes no sense for us to trade now versus the contender pushing all in and chasing the Cup. Tallon will not be trading one of our top 3 prospects for Bob. We have made it known we will pay him if he comes in free agency.

I agree with the idea the Reimer is a bit of a cap dump. The original proposal didn't have retention that I saw.

I don't view the first as being involved for a rebtal type deal. I think it's only there if Bob reups. Otherwise that is an a prospect, ufa and cap dump (no retention) for a ufa two time vezina winner.

If you add retention I think that does change it, but if you'd expect you value it as a pick I would suggest it Reimer be flipped for the pick by Florida separately or make this a threeway.

The original OP didn't have retention on Reimer but more just saying Reimer is tradeable with that retention.
The 1st being dependent on Bob re-upping only makes more sense for a mid pack team like COL or BUF who have two 1sts.
Right now our 1st is in the top 10 and it'd be silly to offer that up for a guy who knows we already want him and have a blank check waiting for him. (I'd actually prefer Quick for reference here)

3 ways are fun but rarely happen :naughty:

So we can discuss reimers career stats, but bob has low value bc of current year...hmmmm

We all know Bob is a great goalie....
Expect a conditional 1st + prospect + lesser goalie for him from a contender, not a current top 10 2019 pick + Borgstrom or Tippett. Bob isn't helping the situation by wanting to hear ALL offers in free agency. His market is probably only 5-6 teams in free agency.

I don't recall Bob bring interested in all suitors. Standing theory by many CBJ fans is just that he feels disrespected by management (playoffs busing, psych comments, and $$$). I don't think he's limited really other than salary.

Personally, I don't need the first if Tippett or Borgstrom is involved. But I do think some balancing would still be required if Bob were moved to Florida. If he's not, we're just having fun in a forum anyway right.

Chances of Columbus getting a top prospect or a 1st round pick for an impending ufa goalie is slight to none.

Reimer isn’t horrible either. I’m sure we’d be open to retaining cap but just cause he’s a bit overpaid doesn’t make him a terrible goalie.

Best comparable is what bishop got when the lightning traded him to the Kings. Goalies just don’t have the trade value they used to have.

Have a feeling if bob goes to Florida panarin will go as well and they’ll both sign, big blockbuster move involving borgstrom and other big pieces

I just can’t see Columbus moving either guys unless they get a goalie back

The deal for Bobrovsky would have to have Luongo coming back no? I can't see Florida paying their goaltenders $15M combined.

Could see Lou wanting a few more runs at the playoffs over playing time at this point in his career.

Luongo will be LTIRetired after this season. His salary will drop to 1.6 - 1.0 - 1.0 million for last 3 seasons. Not gonna play them like Zetterberg or Hossa.

That's why Reimer is not going anywhere, he'll be backing up Bobrovsky in this scenario.

Luongo would never waive his NTC to go play for Torts. They didn't have a great relationship in Vancouver. Also, Luongo would be worse than Reimer as he has more years left at a higher cap hit.

Florida will buy out or trade Reimer in a separate deal.

Brassard, Borgstrom, and a Conditional 2nd (1st if Bob re-signs)
This is awful for Florida. BOB is a goner who's having a bad year. Florida isn't even a playoff contender so they can wait until the end of the year and sign him for free.

Man people out here are delusional thinking they are going to get a top prospect for a 31 year old
Impending UFA goalie. A second is about as much as the Panthers would pay a Stanley Cup contender might pay a first assuming he was the missing piece.

I can’t see Florida moving anything of significance for any pending free agent at the deadline. They are 11 points out of the last wildcard spot with 30 games remaining. Florida would be stupid to give up assets at this point. There is also a few starting goalies available in the off season, Bob is the best of them, but if the real ask is a 1st and a top prospect I can’t see anyone actually offering that for ufa goalie.

Right? You get assets back if you can or hope he re-signs. But when was it realistic to ask for a first and or top prospect from a team not even contending this year? Crazy
