Vancouver. Duh.
I think it would be best for the Canucks to dicuss, but wait until the end of the season and see where Horvat is at then. He's been the Canucks best player, but if he slows down and ends up with 8 points in 42 games like the start of last season, they could talk him down to a cheaper deal.

Horvat is beginning to get O starts and ****. The Sedins used to use up all the Ozone and leave everybody else gasping. You know the Sedins didn't ever tell anybody to make them less important or let it happen without a war. These guys just refused (publicly!) to be split after the Coach said he would try it.

Horvat is the new Captain and focus of the offense. He got there by outplaying the guys the team is built around. That's not insignificant. They are paid six or whatever to follow behind the play, what's a leader worth?

Probably a bridge. But it depends on the year he's having which is a 50 pt season about and thats with a 22%shooting pct. Benning might just give him 5m because Benning but they should bridge. Who knows if he'll ever break 60pts, I would be careful and just bridge

If you have to wonder if he'll hit 60 points ever shows just how little you watch him play and makes your opinion moot.
Horvat has all the makings of a Bergeron like centre to lead this Vancouver team. He's shown basically every night why he should be the focus point of the Vancouver offence.

Horvat is also well on his way to making any GM eat their bridge contract idea much like PK made Bergy eat his. He's the leader of the Canucks and he continues to impress and out play his teammates in almost every facet of the game. If he gets dicked around in contract negotiations I wouldn't feel anything bad towards him for seeking first flight out of this **** show. He's clearly an NHL first liner in the making and will he paid accordingly.
IMHO shoving a 3-4 million dollar bridge down his throat makes any idea of a 6 million cap hit after that a complete fantasy. Locking him up at 5-5.5 now makes it less likely you spend 7 million on him in two years.

My opinion of him is mine, just because you disagree doesn't mean my opinion is *moot*. I watch him play and I think he's great but I would rather bridge if I was Benning and I think Horvat also would rather that so that he gets payed more later. Canucks have a lot of cap coming off in the next few years with both sedins, sbisa and miller. I wouldnt worry about this contract

I wouldn't bridge him.
He's already our best player, and the team leader to boot.
Sign him long term if he's willing to be a part of this gong show organization for the long haul.

Saw someone who suggested 6 years 5 AAV and i thought it sounded pretty fair. It could be a potential steal down the road. I have full confidence in Horvat and his future development. He's so mature and you can tell he's got the determination to get better, he has been improving every season so far and he already have a lot of responsibilities with the team. Don't really see much point in signing him to a bridge contract.

Maybe, but he's yet to hit 50 points ever. If other fan bases can't use pace in this site, yours should be no exception

I don't care, he's hit 50 points over his last 82 games. It's arbitrary to draw a line when the season starts and ends. Right now he's a 50+ point player if you look at statistics from a logical perspective and aren't irrational when it comes to dates.

So you think he's worth more than Kadri? Kadri is better offensively IMO and quite good defensively. I find it hard to believe that he is worth more than him.

Kadri is also 5 years older and plays on a better team. Don't think Kadri is going to get much better, but i'm sure Bo will.

He hit 40 points (in 82 games) last season, he has 13 points in 20 games this season.. he's not a 50 point player.

That's my point, he's 5 years older so should be paid more, right? Also I'm not sure if better team is accurate. Just finished last in the NHL and only 2 points ahead from you right now.

Kadri IMO is better defensively as well. I am just saying, he is IMO the most comparable contract, if you wanted to give him more as a leaf fan that makes me happy, but he shouldn't get more than that unless he signs for like 8 years.
