Isles have older forwards that they would sell. Nelson, Palmeri are up in 2025 & then Lee/Pageau are due up in 2026. These are the first forwards to get shipped out if the Isles do sell.

I am a fan of putting everyone for sale so the answer to your question would be yes unless there is a better offer, but the Islanders are not going to rebuild, they are going to beat this dead horse until all our tradeable assets are to old and won't get alot back and than start a long and miserable rebuild instead of getting a start on it now

If he is, I’d suspect futures instead of a hockey trade (expiring cap dump for salary purposes included I’d suspect). He’s still on pace for around 30 goals and plays a heavy game (even if it’s at negative speed)

I wouldn't trade Horvat, I'm also partial to Lee and wouldn't want to get rid of him.

Nelson, Palms and Pageau would be my movable targets that teams would want.

I don't know what could potentially hit the open market in free agency in July, but with the Isles settled into the UBS Arena, think they are a destination location for free agents, which they were not while in the final years at Nassau or ever in Brooklyn. So, Isles cold do a retool if they move off their veteran forwards to bring in some new blood and change the make up of the roster.

Trade Nelson & Palmieri this trade deadline, and Lee & Pageau at the next trade deadline. That’s 23 mil of the books. I don’t mind moving other key pieces either, but this is the bare minimum they must do before they start altering their younger core. With a top 10 pick this year and next, Eiserman coming up in 2026, and a top free agent in 2026, they’ll be on the rise instead of slowly fall back each year. This is the way Lou pls

Younger only by so much. Cause they were low of draft capital for years. Not going to have a bunch of 20-23 year olds coming up. But, can sign 28/29 year old free agents to replace their 33 year old ones.

Please fall apart and draft James Hagens. That’s my main hope honestly. He would honestly be the next replacement for Brock Nelson with Eiserman on his wing. Plus the “local kid gets to play for the team he grew up a fan of” headlines would drive some of the purists nuts because the Isles aren’t on the important list.

Yea he really is the perfect replacement, and would quite a reward after the whole Tavares situation. I’ve already talked out myself of getting him tho since we’ll almost certainly pick 8-12. Holding out hope tho

Isles have very few prospects that are going to be nhl ready in 2025 or 2026. The goal would be to re-tool the makeup of the roster. Going to keep the players under 30 at the moment.

Just anything but another winger with an “NHL ready shot” and average skating ability. That’s all I ask for. We’ve seen MDC, Bellows and Wahlstrom all fizzle out into massive bust territory. Eiserman hopefully isn’t next.
