Sucks that this happened on all fronts, but hopefully it allows Parayko more time to heal. This was his first B2B and he looked not so good in the second game (Worse then he did in G1 at least)

The playoffs are being pushed back a bit to accommodate Vancouver’s situation with the make-up games. It’s just as well for the Blues to have a game or two during that gap.

Binnington probably would have started last game had this been known in advance, but it’s good that Husso got to fight for an important win.

We pretend we're in Ohio.

He's not getting back to 100% this season, but an extra day off isn't a bad thing for him. He definitely looked like he was trying to be careful last game, turns to one direction were visibly affected and he was occasionally trying to just do the "wave a stick at a guy" thing and hoping the guy didn't try to cut in on him. Not sure how long he's going to be able to keep it up, but we'll ride it for as long as we can and then hope for a miracle after that.

That's why I think it would have been beneficial to bring in a rental defenseman to help on the backend with Parayko playing injured this season.

I agree, but then I [had a thought, then went down a rabbit hole, then came back and remembered I started this and had to recall what point I was trying to make, then remembered it and continued my thought, and then I] look at our cap situation and who was out there and wonder who we were really going to add that (a) we could fit, and (b) would be an improvement.

Hutton for a 5th? That wouldn't have been terrible. Probably as good as we were going to do. Anything else would have required a salary to go somewhere - Mikkola could have gone to the taxi squad, so that would helped a little - and if we weren't trading Hoffman, we were pretty hamstrung on what we could give without someone retaining salary. That was going to cost us more, and judging by the market that wasn't going to be cheap. We'll live with what we have, we can QB it to death in hindsight this summer.

I was looking forward to this game too.

We will be well rested on Wednesday so it’s really imperative that we get a big win against Colorado. That would put us on a roll and help prove Army made the right decision today.

Former Blues great Hakanpaa would have been an interesting option, but acquisition price would have been relatively high. Personally, I'm fine with the lack of moves. The team is fortunate we weren't sellers...not sure they've proven enough to be buyers.

So somebody get shot and that is why game postponed?
The very short-version: yes, somebody got shot.

The not-so-short version: little more detail. Kind of important here: it happened as a trial is going on where the defendant is a police officer that kneeled on a black man's neck for over 9 minutes, killing him and causing weeks of riots in the Twin Cities and around the rest of the country.

All I see news looting and burning.

Hope that will end killing and racism.
There's an entire social commentary and discussion that's way off-topic to this thread and HF rules.

Minnesota has 3 home games coming up: Wednesday vs. Arizona, Friday/Saturday vs. San Jose. If those get kicked, they may be playing longer than we're currently scheduled to go.

well, would that fit in with the 'extended season' happening due to Vancouver?

Yes. Vancouver goes to the 16th as it stands. Figure one of Minnesota's games goes to the 10th, when we're playing Los Angeles. Still plenty of time to drop the other two in and be done by the 16th.
