He isn't our best D when we're healthy, but alas, we aren't healthy
He cant carry the team. If you are fine with it so be it. My expectations for 6.5mill is much higher. I want elite man with that money a d for 13mill. $ have really good dmens, but..... ...........

I wish he still had him, at least he cared and showed heart and didn't fold like a cheap lawnchair.

You will have to let go of the "Petro" is our salvation mantra. We offered a mint, he wanted the moon, so he left.
We offered a mint? I seem to recall that we offered barely more than what he got, but Armstrong wouldn’t give a bonus or a NMC. Not exactly asking for the moon.

He is gone, but it’s pretty foolish to not think this team would be much better with him.

Jesus, these games are so painful to watch. It's just endless stretches of time when nothing happens interrupted by other teams goals.

I liked it better when we were on the other side!

Of course he can't carry the team, he was never signed here to do so, problem is, Parayko is injured, so he has to play a bigger role than he's supposed to.

I wish he still had him, at least he cared and showed heart and didn't fold like a cheap lawnchair.
We had plenty of flat performances and blow outs during his captaincy, don't nostalgia trip it like it was all sunshine and rainbows, especially given your previous views on Petro.

DA made a good offer. I have no idea if we would be better right now if Petro were here. Lots of guys are screwing up out there. The year before we won the Cup, Petro was Captain and we missed the playoffs on the last game of the season against Colorado. Many games that year were squandered (shitty starts and finishes).

I think we all just need to move on. The team is in a bad place NOT because of DA or Petro, but because of the guys on the team NOW. There are no excuses for how they are playing right now. None.

You sure? True that there were blowouts and stuff but I remember when there was at least they still competed and not fold like a Bret.

Wait, I thought he “offered him a mint?!?!” Now it was “a good offer?” Not a good look to shift those posts so far.

Do you honestly think that having one of the top D in the NHL, a guy who can shut down the other teams best line and put up 50 points wouldn’t help the team? I get that people took it personally when he left, but some of the stuff posted is ludicrous. It is kind of comical how you dismiss the Cup team and only mention the previous season. You could be a top poster at another forum that I know of, this attitude towards Pietrangelo would fit in well.

I'm done with you. That first line is silly internet lawyering BS. Your logic is also silly. Petro is a great player, but he didn't win the Cup every year he was here. Enough said. Talk to somebody else.
