Wasn't around for the last game but got to watch a replay. There was a lot to like, especially Tarasenko (who could have had 3-4 goals with little tweaks) and Schwartz (who played his best game this year), and the backcheck was superb all night. On the flip side we can't give up 50 shots again and expect Binnington to bail us out again, it looks like he has some of that swagger back but that would be a bit much to ask. Lastly, I want to touch on Parayko who is clearly still not comfortable on the ice. He is still moving gingerly around the ice, sadly I don't think we see a 100% Parayko again this year.

We need to win these games, even if a designated assassin has to wrap his lumber around the wrist of that Russian flowbro.

I think Hoffman being scratched is a coaches decision and not a front office decision (regarding an imminent trade). Curious how this impacts his trade value. I think he’s definitely available, but how much can you ask for a guy who isn’t able to crack your line-up?

How is Army selling it? It seems like Berube sold the scratch as an opportunity for Blais. He seemed to intentionally not say anything about Hoffman. I could be reading into this a bit but there may be a strategic communication model being employed here.

I read comments after the first scratch that he (Berube)wanted more from Hoffman. Then he came back and had a more eventful game with some more offensive aggressiveness, but the Blues didn’t win. I’m not sure there is more to say. Hoffman’s lines haven’t been effective enough. I guess I don’t see any impetus for Armstrong to make a public comment at all, or for Berube to say anything beyond what he’s already said.

Standing by to have glimmer of hope dashed with a shitty showing.

We are in the "Show Me" state....so show me this come back.

Whether it is performance related or simply protecting a trade asset, pretty much everyone outside the organization is going to assume the latter. Even if it isn't, if you are looking to trade him if the price is right why do anything to upset the protection narrative? It only diminishes his trade value, and that matters whether you're actively trying to move him or simply listening and waiting to get blown away by an offer.

Potentially exciting games ahead... considering where we are in the standings, the point in the season, and our health/play in the game on Wednesday.
Gotta keep fiala, Eriksson ek, zuccc... ahhh pshhh the entire wild at bay

I meant that Army might be having closed door discussions with GMs and saying we are holding him out to keep from him getting injured... ala Hall, etc. I wouldn’t expect Army to come publicly and say something unless it is like the Halak situation where he strategically says we are keeping him and then trades him.

Thing is, anyone's up for trades. All depends on the return. I'm sure many GMs really think "hey, we're keeping this guy," but the right offer knocks and off he goes.

Right now if we just told him to go home and then sold his equipment at the nearest Play It Again Sports, I'd call that a trade deadline win for dumping Hoffman.

Also for those of you scoreboard watching tonight:
We are Vegas fans for tonight while they play Arizona
Take your pick of Kings vs. Sharks, but technically a Kings win with them at 36 points is more beneficial
