GDT: Blues vs Utah. Is This How It Ends?

I'm very glad that The Blues won and will be in The Playoffs. But, I'm disappointed that The Wild didn't lose, so that The Blues could play The Golden Knights (who I think would be a slightly easier match for The Blues), and not The Jets, who are my hometown, and 2nd favourite team. Now, one of my 2 favourite teams will be out of The Playoffs after the first Round. I hope Thomas will be able to play, unimpaired, in The 1st Game, and Holloway will be able to return some time during that series.

I’m gonna be honest, I’m not upset playing Winnipeg over Vegas for a couple reasons. Vegas always seems to give us fits. And as good as Hellebyuck is in the regular season he’s had his issues in the playoffs.

Just have to hope Thomas and Holloway are ready to play.
And we get normal start times.

WHOOOOOOO WE'RE GOING TO WIN THE CUP!!!!! RECKLESS OPTIMISM!!!!!

OK all kidding aside, I'm so excited for playoff hockey again. Neighbors, Snuggy, and Bolduc experiencing playoff intensity is great for their development.

This team really came together after the 4 Nations and went on a spectacular run. Let's keep the party going. I think both Vegas and Winnipeg are tough outs, so it didn't really matter to me who we played, but at least we won't have any 9:30 start times lol.

Snuggy played a great game. I think the kid is going to be a player for sure. He's more then just a shot, that much is obvious.

I do think that the Suter/Leddy pairing is going to be a weak link - I hope I'm wrong, but Leddy hasn't looked good all season and Suter has looked more and more behind the play as the intensity has ramped up.

Glad to hear Thomas is OK - hopefully we get Holloway back sooner then later and can head into the playoffs about as healthy as you can ask for.

Lots of guys hit milestones this game - Thomas got to 60 assists and 80 points, Kyrou got to 70 points, Schenn hit 50 points, Sunny hit 20 points, and Buch hit 20 goals. Bolduc finishes with 19 goals and Broberg finishes with 29 points.

Final thought - Fowler has played like an absolute franchise level D this year. Since coming to the Blues, he's scoring at a 58 point pace over a full season. He matches up against all the top lines, and he's helped unlock Parayko into the player we saw when he was paired with Jay-Bo. That's incredible for a guy we picked up for peanuts.

What a game to be at! Fun to see them to see them clinch and for Snuggy to get his first of many.

I personally wanted to go through the Pacific. In the end Vegas or Winnipeg is tough out of the gate. Hopefully the Presidents Trophy curse can come into play sooner rather than later.

If we still had the 4th line from 2019 I would have confidence in a cup run but our current 4th line while decent defensively just can't score goals and that's a big problem in the playoffs. I think we can win round 1 but the Avs and or Stars in round 2 would be to much.

Throughout the decades and especially tonight, win, lose or draw, no matter what, I'm a Blues fan. Simple as that.

As a Blues fan tonight, all I can say is find a way and win. Do things in steps. Tonight, just win. That's all. If any member of Utah wants to pitch a fit, put them through the boards. Don't let Binny and Dingo be our sole Goons. They want to fight, put them through the boards. They want to check, put them through the boards. Don't get cute and fancy with the stickplay, too. You get it, shoot it. Pass it. Don't give it away. Make the goalie pay. And when they've given up a goal, make them pay more. Make them pay until they can't pay anymore and keep on making them pay.

Be Killers. But more than that, believe in each other, yourselves, your abilities and the Note on your chest. That Note was right there where each one of you are in 19 and look at how that went. This could be your time, if you give yourself to it and become what you're meant to be - killers.

Tonight is for the Note. Show no mercy!

That's ok, I'll explain and expand:

When looking for a nickname for someone, I tend to pull up what the name means as a starting point, sometimes you find a corellation between that and their skillset, but since he has a nickname it's null and void.

In terms of the question I was answering, it was 'What would his nickname be' since it seemed like he didn't have one. Well, obviously he does lol.

Sorry for trying to help.

Nice to end the brief skid and do it ourselves instead of relying on help from elsewhere.

Nice to see the team start right on time and then use the PP to bury the opponent at the end of the 1st period.

Nice to see Schenn step up in a big way with his best game in a few weeks.

Nice to see Snuggy have the best game of his young career and snag his first NHL goal.

Nice to see Kyrou top the 35 goal mark for the 2nd time in his career and jump into the top 20 in goals this year.

Nice to see Binner once again hold the fort in a big situation when Utah made their push in the 2nd.

Nice to see Buch with another monster game. That's 5 goals and 9 points in the final 6 games of the season (with two 3 point nights in the final 3 games). Small sample, but he led the team in goals and was 2nd in points following the Holloway injury. He sure looks like the guy we know and love heading into playoffs.

Nice to see Bolduc with a two point night and his 2nd straight game with 15+ minutes of ice time.

But more than anything, it's pretty damn nice that playoff hockey is coming back to St. Louis for the first time in 3 years.
