Exactly this. NOBODY could have this lineup winning regularly, especially against the solid, balanced teams. Even IF they'd have a miracle finish and sneak into a Wild ard spot, they couldn't compete with other playoff teams in the more intense, tightly-played playoff games.

Totally! I was hopeful and as excited as the next guy. I'm admittedly a little homerish in my initial excitement, but the criticism comes out when appropriate.

I had higher expectation for this roster, but maybe my expectations were a little misguided.

Despite these few years of them having an absolutely lethal power play and every single coach of opposing teams demanding their team stay out of the box, the oilers are still able to find ways to be aggressive enough to draw calls. Impressive to see them stick to a hard working game like that in the middle of the season.
