That’s what made Jackman an NHL defenseman, along with others.

I’m fine with opening up the game and letting the skill show more. I disagree with the one fight at a time rule. The rules in general have always been a joke. There’s slashing and cross checking all the time but don’t get called. It’s always been like this.
But, a LOT more penalties get called now than back in the 1940s, '50s and '60s. It used to be that a team would get one or 2 power plays a game. Nowadays, sometimes they get 5 or 6.

If they called the clear interference penalty on Edmonton a minute before Faksa high sticks Bouchard it would never have happened

Faksa with a slight tap. Bouchard should get the "silent film Pantomime award for acting on that play". What a farce! Bouchard should have also gotten a penalty there for trying to influence the refs.

Good kill by The Blues to not let them get away with that cheap PP!

Just a dumb pass by Kyrou to ruin the rush

Despite giving up a goal and not scoring one, the overmatched Blues played reasonably well in The 2nd, playing good team defence and like in The 1st Period, getting a few really good scoring chances. They need ton deliver on those.

Still not impressed with Monty at all.

Holloway and Kyrou have been the best wingers on the team. Here’s just a crazy thought. Listen, I know this makes no sense to millionaire coaches who are obviously borderline genius, but why not try playing the best center with the best wingers??

I know, I know, call me crazy

(1) Pretty sure I could hit the net from Buch’s location 3 feet from the crease…

I guess at least Neighbors got a shot on the breakaway??
(1) My dead grandmother could have put that one in. (She was a hockey Mom).
(2) The Blues need some good-finishing alumnus, like Hullie, Turgeon, or even Bernie, to show Neighbours how to deke, and generally make moves on his drive to the net. He has a ridiculous clear breakaway, with 5 to 6 seconds before anyone can catch him, and he just shoots it into the goalie's stick every time.

I don't think you're crazy and I've questioned some of his lineup decisions, but this is a transition season. This roster is so easy to gameplan against that it's painful and it's why I haven't watched.

With Monty and the Blues, think "long game". Get your game theory juices flowing here and try to think the long game.

Holloway easily our best player tonight. Well, I’m forgetting Binner though.
He's been The Blues' best all-around forward since he settled into the lineup a few weeks after getting used to his linemates. Better all-around than even Thomas. Certainly better than Kyrou and Buchnevich. What a steal he was for a 3rd Rounder.

This long game, is it anything like long pig?

Exactly this. NOBODY could have this lineup winning regularly, especially against the solid, balanced teams. Even IF they'd have a miracle finish and sneak into a Wild ard spot, they couldn't compete with other playoff teams in the more intense, tightly-played playoff games.

I’m giving you virtual likes 👍
I would give you actual likes but the Canadian mods took away that ability because I celebrated Canada losing to Czech.
