GDT: Blues vs Avs. I want some Toasted Ravs. 1530 Fanduel Extra

Yeah. I think Bolduc has an even bigger edge than Perron did, especially at age 21-22. Perron kinda gradually played more physical as he got older, but he didn’t play nearly as physical as Bolduc has when he was this young. Bolduc is trucking guys out there, I love it too.
Which is crazy when one of his knocks coming up was compete. Which probably was fair at times and just shows how seriously he's taken to developing his game to succeed at this level. To do it this young is impressive.

Barbie is another somewhat similar and it took him some time to truly develop his edge.

Many AVS fans are downright disrespectful. They never give credit to opposing teams when they lose which is not often. Constantly blaming refs when they do lose.

I mean, we have a Blues fan on here who has a version of 17 different team's name with "ref" replacing some part of it, because the only way we lose to those teams is if there is some vast conspiracy to push every other team in the league ahead of us. There are those in every fan base.

I would love for the Blues to catch/pass Colorado, but yes I do find it funny they have yet to pass Minny and you're already thinking about the Avs. I will be right there on catching Colorado once they're close and don't need 9000 different things to break their way.

One team at a time please.
Fair Enough. I wasn't saying that I THINK The Blues will pass the Avs, only that it is still POSSIBLE. I certainly wouldn't bet my life savings on it. I DO think it's a good bet they'll finish ahead of The wild, given that The Wild officials still don't know when, or even IF Eriksson-Ek, or Kaprisov will be back, and they've been having a terrible time scoring more than 1 or 2 goals since they've both been out. I'll be3 happy if they just pass The Wild. I don't care too much whether they play The Golden Knights or The Stars in the First Round (but would rather they play The Golden Knights IF I'd have my druthers).

Refalanche and ref Jose are well earned monikers

Just read the Avs game thread, boy was that a mistake. Apparently the refs lost them that game, I really f***ing hate the Avs and their fans.
toxic fanbase tbh. canucks & leafs are the only ones worse. thats why i enjoy watching them both choke (or miss entirely) every spring. Canucks are probably the most toxic fanbase in hockey and it has nothing to do with burning down their own city after they choked.

Refalanche fans are the Paris Hilton/Kardashian's of hockey. Entitled spoiled brats who became the league darlings following the downfalls of the Detroit and Chicago runs and get 10 power plays game now. and when they dont get their usual generous treatment, they whine and cry about it like manchildren.

even ref jose fans are not as bad as Refalanche fans.

I’m in the same boat in regard to listening to other broadcasts. I don’t think they are the worst as far as how they sound. But they are the worst whiners and have been for a long time. I couldn’t believe that Marc Moser complained multiple times about the Blues “just standing in front of their net” in the waning minutes as if blocking shots isn’t fair or something.

That's not even true as all 5 Blues guys were scrambling all over the ice for 2 minutes straight. It was very impressive how the team pressured MacKinnon and Makar all night. They're gonna get looks no matter what you do but we minimized their impact as much as possible. Total buy in up and down the lineup.

The 4th line deserves a ton of credit as well for playing meaningful minutes and Neighbours has really improved his D zone play. The two lines Monty rolled down the stretch were Thomas/Sunny/Holloway and Buch/Schenn/Neighbours.

Sammy Blais tried to play like Patty Kane in Junior and scored in the AHL too but knew/was told that his game wasn’t good enough to play that way in the NHL so he became a heat seeking missile en route to 250+ NHL games and approaching 8 figures in career earnings. Makes sense that it takes some time. These guys are almost always the best player on their team from the time they’re like 5 until they turn pro.

It's called having a little fun. Try it sometime. I don't think people actually believe there is some grand conspiracy against us.

It really makes no sense how we’re doing this without Parayko.

Montgomery really knows what he’s doing.

Just emphasizes how much of a TEAM sport this is. When you've got all 5 guys on the ice playing the right way and supporting each other then we can beat any team in the league.

With Bolduc, Halloway, Snuggerud, and Dvorsky, the Blues are about to have an embarrassment of riches of young sniper/one timer options. Their powerplay should be absurdly good for a long time.
They’ll probably part with one of the young forwards as part of a deal to get a similarly aged defender, but Broberg’s emergence has taken urgency away for now.

I'm not well versed on prospects but I do vividly remember that Blais was small when we drafted him and by the time he made it to the NHL he had gone from something like 5'9 to 6'2 and gained like 30-40 lbs. Which would account for why his game changed so much.

I was working during the game, so I had to watch it on demand today. What a game! I’ve been touting Bolduc for a while now, and I’m so happy he’s finally breaking out. That one-time shot on the power play was exactly what we’ve been missing for the first half of the season. The last few minutes were nerve-wracking, but they managed to hold on to the lead! I’ve always been optimistic about the playoffs this year, especially after Monty was hired. Now, I’m even more optimistic, if we can pull off an upset in the first round I see us making a splash! Let’s go Blues!

He deserves a lot more credit than that. He worked hard to transform his game into a physical checking role that allowed him to not only stick in the NHL from a 6th round pick, but to start for a Cup winner. He frequently led in hits.

His forecheck led to the turnover that became Bouwmeester’s shot tipped by ROR for 2-0 in game 7. But for me, his career highlight was that slap shot on Bishop right after he took that Parayko shot in Game 6.

But anyway, he made a tremendous transformation to his game. If it was easy to do that, a lot more guys wouldn’t peter out in the AHL.

Sure but Xerloris isn’t wrong, he had a major growth spurt that just doesn’t happen to most guys. That played a huge factor in him making it. If he stays at 5’10 it’s very fair to question how many NHL games he would have seen.
