There are 22 games remaining. Not enough time to turn this shit show around.
learn2math. 22 divisional games means even Anaheim could make the playoffs. Blues are already in a playoff spot, they could lose 10 straight and still turn around and get in. the only question is how well they play once the post-season starts.

I love Pie but wtf dude, you’re nuts
That's what a friend told me, not my actual thoughts.

His words
"You do what you have to, if it means you trade ROR, Parayko, and Tarasenko to make room you do it, Pietro is the team and no one else matters"

Gotta fix the zone entries. We also tend to throw the puck from the point instead of maintaining pressure once we DO get things established. This isn't a personnel issue -- we need to rethink how we're playing the game as a team.
We also gotta fix zone exits, we're getting hemmed in entirely way too often especially after getting control of the puck

Ummm...

JayBo retired
Petro wanted the moon
Gunner is out for the season
Colt is on his way back.

When DA figured that Petro wasn't coming back, he went went after UFA #2 - Krug.

Explain to me what DA should have done?
Some people here would like to point you to a thread about a certain player who ... damn it, his name escapes me at the moment. Well, probably not a big deal, maybe someone else will remember who it was. My take: see what I said here - and that was without injuries coming into play, and would probably be true if that one person were still here.

Blues are still in a playoff spot, we aren't past the trade deadline yet, and we still have out #1 Defenseman out. There is definitely time to turn it around, time is running out tho.
That #1 defenseman probably isn't coming back for a few weeks. Even when he's back, he might well not be at 100% and might be playing limited minutes. Pinning our hopes on his return is a house of cards that could collapse with the slightest nudge. It's all got to come from this group, and it starts with things like a veteran not gliding aimlessly watching the play and not covering a guy in front, and both defensemen not being above the faceoff dots and leaving a guy wide f***ing open in front of the net, and a penalty kill that ... does anyone know what the f*** we do on the PK besides suck ass at it?

Oh, I'm not saying that they will turn it around. And I understand exactly what you are saying. I'm just saying it's not over just yet.

As an Anaheim fan I see a huge problem with your premise
As bad as we are, I am certain we have created a vortex where genuine math does not exist so we therefor can not make the playoffs

we suck

As bad as Anaheim is they have some good pieces. The only teams that are truly bad right now are Buffalo, Detroit and San Jose. Anaheim is 1 solid goal scorer away from being a bubble team as opposed to a basement dweller.

Honestly, I’d consider moving Tarasenko while ge still has ‘name value’ if it strengthens our Blueline. Having only Colt and Faulk is nuts. We need another strong, DEFENCE skilled Dman.

It's a lot easier to complain than to actually provide realistic alternatives, as several posters here confirm on a regular basis.

Vegas doesn't even need Petro, clearly he's overrated. :sarcasm:

What do you do with a team that's not doing the basics? I guess we could always fire the head coach [yet again] but I don't know what that accomplishes. Unless Berube's system is that bad that it stifles out offense unless it's the perfect play - and it still doesn't explain some of the brain-fart things we do handling the puck or how craptastic the PK unit gets at times - this is on the players, and adding a guy back who was here last season and whose departure has generated all kinds of emotions here doesn't fix that. [If it does, ... goddamn did someone f*** up, and I can't believe this team's problems really are that shallow.]

ADD: yes, I know. Parayko isn't here, blah blah blah. You want to be an elite team, you still figure out how to play at an elite-like level without him. His not being here doesn't explain how Faulk tries to skate the puck through the crease under pressure from behind and with a player right in front of him. His not being here doesn't explain how 2 guys go chase the puck into the corner on the PK, a defenseman cheats down that way and Sanford is watching from up high so all 4 of our guys are on the right side of the side beyond the goal crease and the closest Blues player to Mark Stone is our goalie and Stone's in the left-wing sniper's spot. That's basic-level shit we have to clean up.

We had those kinds of mistakes without Tarasenko, and without Schwartz, and without Thomas. All 3 are back, and we're still doing that same crap. At some point, you quit saying problems are because of whoever's not here and you put it on the guys on the ice and hold them accountable. I think we're well past that point and these guys need to spend off days watching ice and going over the white board to figure out what the hell they should be doing.

This team either needs to only practice breakouts for the entirety of their practices, or the pucks can stay in the locker room and they can get bag skated. Besides that, some good hockey has been played by our competitors this season, at least we're getting to see that.
