Shattenkirk was our best PP performer all year. Not my favorite trade piece either.

Personally have no interest in trading Shattenkirk for Pavelski. I think it was a career year for him he won't ever match also he is turning 30. In general 30 is where a player starts to decline. I'd want a younger player if I am trading Shattenkirk. Trading Shattenkirk creates a huge hole on our defense. I'm not confident in any of our prospects ever being as good as Shattenkirk.

I'm not in on Pavelski either.

I'll try a different Thornton proposal:

Thornton for 2014 1st and a prospect like Rattie or Schmaltz - or some kind of equivalent futures package.

I don't see how the organization could do that really. I love the player, but he isn't the type (age) of player we should be trading for.

That trade is no good. I don't even think I'd give up the first rounder for him. That's around a 7 mil cap hit for three years in a row of a guy that will be 35 at the start of this next season.
