Hey. Norwegian hockey fan here, coming in peace.
So when do you see Redden play?
I hope for him to get 1000 NHL games, lack 6 games or something like that? I followed Rangers because a Norwegian player was there for the past two seasons, and Redden was a real class act after they buried him in the minors. Was a great mentor and teacher for young D's like Ryan McDonaugh among others. And never complained.
Zuccarello told Norwegian newspapers that he was a great team mate and mentor.

So I for one wish him and The Blues good luck. Hope to see The Blues and Redden in the Stanley Cup final this year.

Redden will be available starting our next game on Thursday. But that doesn't mean he will play that game. I think he'll play so they can rest Jackman.

One of the most expensive mentors in the business? ;-)

Let's hope he prove he still can play good hockey.

Edit: I missed... $800K, it's almost a bargain.

I think he'll play Thursday. I wouldn't be surprised if Cole sat a game. At least last night he was making some errors that hurt the team badly, primarily by not getting the puck in deep when just inside the blue line.

Someone will sit. It makes sense for it to be Jackman, but he's been the most consistent D-man so far (expectedly) and I hate to take that reliability out of the lineup.

Jackman is playing great hockey right now, and i dont see the Blues resting him this early in the season. Cole will be sitting out on Thursday.

I would assume that once Woywitka clears waivers, they will bring Cole back up without penalty. Regardless, I'd be surprised if Cole doesn't sit on Thurs.

Cole has to go down since Woywitka is still on the roster. He will be back up tomorrow. It's nothing.

If Redden plays I would sit Russell. Cole needs to keep playing. He hasn't been bad.

Cole wasn't good against Chicago, but overall I think he may be Pietro's partner. On the other hand, if Redden is one of the best 6 d-men we have, better figure out what the pairings are going to be (I assume he's with Pietro). It won't hurt Cole to take a night off once in a while and watch. Jackman will need some rest games. I think a 7 man rotation is going to be the system this season.

I was gonna say....

Considering the Blues spent $1,000,000 on Darryl Sydor on season, and $1,000,000 per year for three years on Danny Hinote as mentors, I don't think $800,000k on Redden as a mentor is a bad deal.

Cole being sent down is the same as Schwartz being sent down last week. Once Porter cleared waivers Schwartz was recalled. When Woywitka's waivers end he will be sent to Peoria and Cole will be recalled. They had to send some one down in order to put Redden on the roster and Cole was the only defense man that could be sent down without going on waivers. But this does mean Cole will most likely be the one sitting out tomorrow night.

Cole has been playing horrible this season, thats why.
Why are you such a hater? He hasn't played horrible at all. A couple of mental mistakes last night, against a good team. I think that crap interference penalty messed him up a little but he'll rebound. Not sure why why you think he has played horrible. Blues games are on FoxSports Midwest if you decide to start watching.

You realize Cole hasn't been sent down, right? That it's just a technical assignment while Woyrika's on waivers? Cole has been a bright spot so far this season.

I dont know if i would call him a bright spot, however he has been better than i anticipated. Now Tarasenko, thats a bright spot!!

Cole has not played terrible, but it is becoming a pattern with him that he gets rattled easily if calls go against him. (interference last night, suspension last year) he has to get mentally tougher, because he has the body to be a top 4 and he needs to develop the mind of a top 4.

I'm not a "hater" by any means. I love Cole and the blues. But in my opinion he has not looked good this year, sure hes only played 3 games, but still. I'm entitled to my own opinion, and cole has not played well. Not only has he missed key passes, but he has made choices that were very questionable. Maybe horrible was the wrong word, but he for sure has not been acceptable.

I didn't say anything about Cole being sent down..I just said cole hasn't played well, Because he hasn't. Just my two cents, I'm entitled to my opinion.

I can easily prove that Cole has played bad. I think he will play well, but these three games have not been positive.

I thought Cole bailed Petro out in Nashville and played well vs Detroit. Didn't see much of the Chicago game.

Jeff Woywitka has to be the 8th defenseman in this group, so with the other seven being up here there has to be some type of rotation. I'm just a little concerned Hitchcock doesn’t overdo this and they lose continuity, some plans sound good in theory.

No he hasn't. How Cole became the new whipping boy is strange to say the least. Cole needs to play in a string of games to get his pace down, hes still a young player. Hes not a 10 yr vet who can be effective playing every 3rd game. He needs to play ALOT this year so the Blues can get a legitimate read on what kind of player he is and what he could become.

As far as him being "sent" down, its strictly a roster juggle by activating Redden and while the Blues wait for Woywitka to clear waivers they near to clear a roster spot. Once Woywitka clears/gets claimed, then Cole will be back with the Blues. Nothing more, nothing less.
