No it’s not. We have eight drafted forwards there, one defenseman and one goalie.

The top 6 point scorers for the Thundderbirds are Perunovich and 5 guys we didn't draft (Peca, Walker, Brown, Todd, Anas). All 9 guys we drafted minus Perunovich have less points than those 5 by a good margin (53-42). That doesn't include the 9 other guys we didn't draft that I didn't mention. We've gone hunting for some solid AHL talent over the past several years in order to build a competitive environment for our prospects. We don't really have the prospects outside of a couple to push to be amongst the top of those guys yet.

Fair enough. I see that. There are "prospects" in Springfield, but nothing to write home to Mom about, except Hofer.

The point being, it’s nice that we have most of the control of our minor league team for the first time in awhile and our prospects are actually playing

I believe Tucker is doing well also. He is a defensive defenseman, so he doesn't have the points. He has the highest +/- of anybody who has played every game. I have heard good things about his D and his leadership. He may be a good Scandella replacement when Scandella hits UFA, assuming we dont trade Scandella first.

So glad to hear this! How is his skating? Is he NHL level yet?

Skating isn't great, but I haven't seen him play in person or on tv. Hopefully he can improve his edgework or work with Perunovich to figure out some finer details, but I'm more interested in his ability to defend. He's shown a good ability to move the puck, maybe more so than Scandella, so there's that.

I haven't had a chance to watch myself unfortunately. That is why I qualified it with "I believe" and "I have heard". Its all second hand info. I can't even remember the source, so take it with a huge grain of salt. His skating was decent though when I did see him in the past. I'd say average to a little below average for an NHL player, but maybe average to a little above-average for a guy his size.

There are good signs from Washkarauk, Toropchenko and Alexandrov also. Could be a few sleepers that emerge.

We are going to need Tyler Tucker at some point.

I just want to give a shout out to Tage Thompson who scored his 7th of the year tonight. I was at the game when he got his 1st NHL goal when the Blues were in Edmonton.

Well....someone has to score some goals in Buffalo. Seriously, though, good for Tage.
