Love this old club song. And One normally sounds nothing like this. They're mostly in the Depeche Mode vein.

It's a fun play on dancing tanks (tanzen/panzer) and on German robotic teutonic culture.

This is multi-culti Germans making fun of themselves. It was a huge club hit.

Ahhh shit, girl! You got me on a Mastodon kick now!

AWESOME! I have, like, twenty-three of their songs on my iPhone. Love Island, Deathbound (hilarious video with a spoof of Brann Dailor - the drummer, and a f***ing legend with drums and lyrical talent - as Mr. Rogers), and - especially - Crack the Skye. Crack the Skye is so f***ing haunting and one of the best songs I think I've ever heard of any genre. The album, Crack the Skye, is what got me into Mastodon, and the whole album is a masterpiece. I know that people didn't care for The Hunter, Once More 'Round the Sun and Emperor of Sand, but I found a lot of good songs off of those albums as well, along with Blood Mountain and their newest album, Hushed and Grim.

Mastodon is, by far, one of my favorite metal bands, and definitely my favorite psychedelic/prog metal bands.

Brann Dailor is one of the best metal drummers ever. I know I’ve said that for other drummers, but “one of” is what is operative.

He and Bill Kelliher jumped over to join the other two guys in Atlanta (all south band) from Today Is the Day, who I got to see live as an opening band in Chicago. That was some frightening frenzying shit and I could clearly see the talent in Dailor and Kelliher.

LMFAO

The drumming in ‘Island’ is f***ing amazing! Brann Dailor is the shit.

Drummers from a jazz background are often the best metal drummers.

Lamb of God is another band that is worth mentioning. Those two brothers have been so deeply trained in music theory that it’s not fair for other metal bands.

Thinking about the high schools we played in sports.

Jennings
Berkeley
McCluer North
Orchard Park
St. Charles
Rosary
Parkway South
Clayton
John Burroughs
Lutheran South

Most of them were very small schools back then. St. Charles wasn’t small, but we played them in football anyway.

Yep, got two Lamb of God songs on my iPhone. Not too much of a fan of the vocals (I normally prefer metalcore these days, not too much heavy stuff), but the instruments make the band.

Love Written by Wolves and The Wise Man's Fear when it comes to newer metalcore artists. Memphis May Fire, Mutiny Within, Abandon All Ships, All That Remains, Asking Alexandria, Beartooth, Behind the Tales, Black Tide, Black Veil Brides, blessthefall, Bring Me The Horizon, Bury Tomorrow, Asfirefalls, August Burns Red, Caliban, Crown The Empire, Darkest Hour, The Dillinger Escape Plan, The Black Dahlia Murder, Disturbed (especially Disturbed), Escape the Fate, Feed Her To The Sharks, Falling in Reverse, ICE NINE KILLS, Huntress (even though the main singer passed), Monster Eats Manhattan (an awesome local St. Louis metalcore band), Pierce the Veil, POYNTE, Protest the Hero, Ravenface, Senses Fail, Sleeping With Sirens, Sonic Syndicate, State of Mine (mostly metal covers of country/R&B songs, but Dragging Me Down is sooo good), System Of A Down, Upon This Dawning, We Came As Romans, The Word Alive...those are bands that have multiple songs on my iPhone when it comes to metal and metalcore.

I'm Going to August Burns Red, Trivium, and Bullet For My Valentine in a few months and I am beyond Hyped.

Beautiful! Love Bullet For My Valentine! Was a nice band for my younger adult years (and still have two songs). I've heard many good things about Trivium as well.

The ones that jumped out are Caliban and Bring Me the Horizon. I also like Taking Back Sunday and Enter Shikari
Have both of those bands (albeit one for the latter). Taking Back Sunday never struck me as a metalcore band; it's more like a punk rock style (which I'm all for, by the by; I listen to damned near everything except blues and jazz).

I love Metalcore, Last year I went and got to see Beartooth, The Plot In You, INVENT ANIMATE, Sleep Theory, I Prevail, Hollywood Undead, Wage War, Bad Omens, and a bunch of other bands between Pops, Hollywood Amp, STL Music Park, and Red Flag. So far there hasn't been many other Concerts out there, But I am so far Planning that concert and then the Three Days Grace and Disturbed Concert as well.

Have Aces High from Iron Maiden, and have put that song on repeat for a story of mine that I'm currently writing. Too explicit to share, and probably not to people's tastes (it's...well, not exactly mainstream writing, what I've been doing), but it's given me inspiration and a lot of chapters done (three last night alone, even though I spent most of it chowing down on all kinds of unhealthy shit that gave me a stomachache and headache - sadly, not much actual food in my house, since it's a group home for disabled people and the real world is a little...jerkish, right now. Note to self: never eat a whole f***ing jar of Nutella ever again).

Love this. The creative process knows no bounds.

This is the first song that got me into Trivium. I was listening to Iron Maiden songs and clicked on it thinking it was a song called Trivium. Fell in love immediately.
