Places I love in Malibu and in the Village are gone. I love Malibu so much. It’s sad to see what’s happening. Puts the quash on my LA visits for a while.

I’m one of the few fans of his Dune effort, even if the theatrical release wasn’t the edit he wanted.
Wild at Heart also deserves a mention.
One little joyful moment from Twin Peaks: when Lynch makes a cameo as the hard of hearing FBI regional director. He has giant hearing aids. He’s visiting the diner and miraculously is able to hear the voice of one of the young waitresses perfectly. The innocent delight and flirting that follows that otherwise total non sequitur is a moment of contagious joy. It had nothing to do with anything else. The type of loving detail that David Lynch wove through his characters.
Lynch was a legend sorry to see that.
Another legend Bob Uecker passed today as well. He was hilarious in Major League and was a very good broadcaster irl as well.

A guy I was acquainted with died as his house burned down along the PCH in Malibu. This guy knew just about every single person who hung out in Malibu.

Anyone here know about Celtic culture? Specifically, I'm curious about the concept of "Sith".
I'm reading a book right now about Celtic "mythology" and it is clear that Sith is a positive term, which means fairy or people of peace.
However, there is a Star Wars film called Revenge of the Sith, which is referring to a dark warrior class.
Kinda strange, no?
I emailed the author to get his opinion on this.
EDIT: The author wrote back to say that the Sith or Sidhe (pronounced ‘shee’) of Celtic folklore is different than the concept of the Sith in Star Wars.
As a side note, Siouxsie and The Banshees get their name from Sith.

I just finished Better Call Saul and that might be the greatest television drama I’ve ever seen. Better than Breaking Bad. Not as ground breaking but the writing and storylines just as brilliant as Sopranos. The Jimmy & Chuck McGill dynamic was the most fascinating fictional sibling relationship. Season 3 was utterly genius. Kim was amazing character as well. So good.

I agree with you on all counts.
I’ve been rewatching X-Files (Gilligan wrote a lot of episodes) and obtained a copy of the short lived The Lone Gunmen series. Vince Gilligan has said that was the best thing he’s done for TV.
I’m going chronologically, and at a slow pace. I’ll see what I think when I get there.

I also found out Gilligan wrote a lot of X-Files episodes when I got into breaking bad. That genre was never really my thing but I'm definitely more inclined to watch it now if I can find the time.
