Great game by The Blues. Nice to see them bounce back from that terrible game against The Wild on Wednesday. Hofer looked really good. I'm feeling really good about him. He played with poise in his 2nd NHL win. Nice to see Blais do so well at scoring since he's been back. He might be a key player on our 3rd Line going forward. Good also to see Kapanen score a goal. The Blues played better on defence than most games lately, keeping the Caps to the outside, and playing better in front of their net. There is some hope for the future. I'd like to see Hofer stay up with The Blues, and Binnington and Greiss playing less. Too bad no team had a goaltender crisis before the deadline, that led to Greiss being traded off.

Was Parayko in camp with him? When? I think he made club his first camp as college players don't typically go to training camp.
The year he was drafted, 2012.
Came for Rookie Orientation, stayed for a few days of training camp(on his own dime; well, mommy and daddies dime but you know what I mean) before heading back to school.
Wasn't a game or even remotely official, but they have shared the ice.

where do you see that? while it is not unusual for college guy to come to rookie camp, i don't recall ever seeing one in actual training camp. not saying you are wrong, but i don't as of yet see anything on web indicating that he was at main training camp that year.

And you probably won't find anything online about it.
Like I said, it wasn't official. But he was definitely one of the guys who was skating with them during the leadup to actual camp and stuck around for the first weekend. One of the very few times I actually got to go to some of the informal skates the last several years and Parayko stood out because of his size. Colt definitely gravitated more towards Petro and Jackman but Oshie was on the ice with him.

Given how Oshie was at the time, I doubt he even knew Colt's name. It was just some random tall kid hero worshipping our D men. Osh didn't pay any attention to him at all.

Watching the game replay now (had to do a dinner event during game time).

Sammy is fantastic! Plays the right way.
Vrana is so quick with his shots. Great passes too. I hope his nose is okay.
Hofer is calm.
Bort is a blocking machine.
Kappy has skills. He still seems a little off and I think its our system. I also heard they are trying to get him to get more inside and not hover around the outside.

Good game by all. Very hopeful about next year.

OK, so we won.

Hofer looked "alright" while untested. We'll get a better barometer on how his career will pan out next year when we expect him to start 20+ games in STL. I liked that he was not over-moving in the 1st and second. He seemed to start swimming a bit when things got more challenging in the 3rd. It could just be a lack of NHL experience. Puck moving was a little iffy sometimes, but I think he needs to get used to the breakout system and where the guys will be.

Fun watching Vrana, Kappy, and Kyrou.

Bortuzzo, the shot-blocking machine!

Thankfully Washington was one and done until it was too late in the 3rd to catch up. It looks like they thought this game was going to be a cakewalk.

Springfield plays tomorrow, then doesn't play until Friday. Sending both Tucker and Alexandrov gives us the roster spot to keep Hofer after Binnington's suspension ends, so I wouldn't be surprised to see him stay with the team until after our Thursday game at Detroit.

I'd honestly like to see Hofer get the start on both Sunday and Thursday. Springfield plays a back to back Fri/Sat, so he'd be able to get a days rest before starting the Saturday game for Springfield.

Good to see we have hope in net coming up. That will help us with the transition going forward.
